I suppose anything's possible, but in this case that seems pretty farfetched. His parents have always struck me as sensible and level-headed, and one would think that his "inner circle" would surely include Coach Hurley, who isn't going to encourage him to jump early when there's no realistic likelihood of his being drafted.

The odds were that he was always going to return. Having hope is always a part of human nature, and leaving options open is always smart, but in this case, the inevitable was ultimately going to win out in the end.

Does anyone else think 3G encouraged these 2 guys go test the waters, hear what they need to work on for a little extra motivation? Not to mention the articles and tweets right during this hot recruiting time, knowing at the end of the day they would both me back, but getting the program extra pub. In 3G the master manipulator we trust.

Mcduffie's dad commented on a post on the Shocker Faithful facebook group and said that two NBA teams asked him to stay in the draft.

Only way I see that is if he were picked in the second round as a draft-and-stash player (which is entirely within the realm of possibility). I think Markis has the opportunity to be a great to elite defender at the next level and is a great spot up shooter (61.2% eFG% in catch and shoot situations this season), which makes him very attractive to NBA teams.

3G wants what is absolutely best for his guys. I'm not sure that can be considered a manipulator.

If he can improve his %'s along with some weight gain, he would be a first round pick.
