Wow. By looking at this, you'd think this guy was an AAC writer. But he's a Pac-12 guy. Lot of respect right there.

Or he is just a smart guy and likes KenPom, who has the top 3 in the AAC as 3, 18, and 29.

      4. Cincinnati (23-2) – Bearcats still haven’t been to Houston or Wichita State, two toughest trips in their league.

      18. Wichita State (19-5) – The Shockers have two cracks at Cincinnati.

Shouldn't the Spartans take over the top spot after they beat Purdue and after Villanova and Virginia lost? Not so fast. Michigan State's body of work doesn't compare to its elite competition.

        6. Cincinnati Bearcats, Record: 23-2, Last week: 9
Despite lacking a marquee win, the Bearcats have 11 Quadrant 1 and 2 wins and are considered elite in the BPI and at KenPom. This is a huge week, though, as the Bearcats have to travel to Houston on Thursday, then play their first of two games against Wichita State this weekend.

        21. Wichita State Shockers, Record: 19-5, Last week: NR
The Shockers are back in the rankings after blowing out Memphis and Connecticut in a couple of easy wins. They also finally picked up a Quadrant 1 win, thanks to Houston beating SMU last week. Wichita State has a statement opportunity this weekend, heading to Cincinnati face the Bearcats.

        • Did anyone else happen to catch Andy Katz top 36 on ncaa.com? He doesn’t have the Shockers in his top 36 but has Nebraska and a few others that are laughable.

In fact, he has Temple at 32 with one of the key points being that they beat us, apparently a team outside of his top 36.

Auburn and Tennessee keep rolling. Blue bloods keep sputtering. And the tournament picture is starting to come into focus.

Actually, that was last week's. They won 2 games this last week so Katz dropped them out.

ShockTalk, good call. I just googled Andy Katz and Top 36. Here's the updated link for anyone else interested: https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball...caa-tournament

That said, it does look like Temple still made the list.

Good call back jdshock. His long scrolling list is hard to move through quickly. So, Temple #33, Houston #18, and Cincy #2, yet no WSU who's tied for 2nd in conference, has the 2nd best RPI of the four, who played the 2nd best OOC, 1 of 2 of these who has no 100+ RPI losses while the other 2 have 8 of those losses between them.

          • It is odd because he used to kind of push our name out there when we were up and coming.

so Houston's win against WSU (not ranked) was a good one, but our win against Houston (top 20) doesn't count. Makes perfect sense.

Andy is slipping and teetering on the edge of “hack” territory.

Nebraska and Temple ahead of WSU is embarrassing. So he’s saying WSU is a double-digit seed at best right now? Wow.

              • No, it looks like he is saying WSU isn't in the field at all. Wonder who put the burr under his saddle cause I'm sure it isn't sensible or reasonable.

36 divided by 4 is 9, so top 36 is top 9 seeds. At large is top 11 or 12 seeds.

                  Either way, it's still delusional.

                    • Wouldn’t be at all surprised if Katz’s negative and irrational bias is 100% political in nature.

                      • Really pleasantly surprised to pass WVU. They split with OU/OSU. Thought WSU would gain ground (was 457 vs 295 in pts last week), but didn't expect to pass them altogether.
