    "2018 pre-season top ten v. 0.1" - Kenpom.com

    http://kenpom.com/blog/2018-pre-season-top-ten/

    by Ken Pomeroy
    March 20, 2017

    10. West Virginia
    9. North Carolina
    8. Louisville
    7. Florida
    6. Virginia

    5. Wichita State. There will be a time for Gregg Marshall to lead a larger program, but that time is not now since he may have his best team ever next season. The Shockers lose exactly zero people from their ten-man rotation and one would think they could score some made-for-TV non-conference matchups to spice up the schedule.

    4. Gonzaga
    3. Kentucky
    2. Arizona
    1. Villanova

  • #2
#6 in ESPN's way too early poll

"Everyone is back. The Shockers have business to attend to. And yes, they will be angry."

"Arizona, Duke top way-too-early NCAA basketball rankings for 2017-18" -

      10. Villanova Wildcats

      9. Wichita State Shockers -
Expected back: All 10 players who averaged at least 10 minutes per game
Definitely gone/Decision time: No rotation players
Why they’re here: Think about this: The Shockers were outstanding this year, rolling up a 31-5 record and pushing No. 2 seed Kentucky to the brink in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, and everybody’s back for Wichita State coach Gregg Marshall. Lock them into another 30-win season, whether they’re playing in the MVC or the AAC this fall.

      8. Florida Gators
      7. North Carolina Tar Heels
      6. Louisville Cardinals
      5. Michigan State Spartans
      4. Kansas Jayhawks
      3. Kentucky Wildcats
      2. Duke Blue Devils
      1. Arizona Wildcats

"2017-18 College Basketball Preseason Top 25" NBC Sports

        By Rob Dauster
        Apr 3, 2017, 7:29 PM EDT

        1. Louisville
        2. Duke
        3. North Carolina
        4. Kansas
        5. Miami
        6. Florida
        7. Villanova
        8. West Virginia
        9. Gonzaga

        10. Wichita State
        •Who’s gone: No one
•Who do they add: Samajae Haynes-jones, Asbjorn Midtgaard
•Projected starting lineup: Landry Shamet, Connor Frankamp, Zach Brown, Markis McDuffie, Shaq Morris
•The Shockers finished the season ranked in the top ten at KenPom, but ended up with a No. 10 seed in the NCAA tournament because they struggled to get used to each other early on in the season. With everyone returning from last year’s team, don’t be surprised to see Gregg Marshall’s team as a Final Four contender.

              4. Villanova
              3. Gonzaga

              2. Wichita State: This was supposed to be a reloading season for the Shockers, yet they pushed Kentucky to the brink in the round of 32. Everyone of consequence returns, and coach Gregg Marshall won’t be lacking for motivation after the selection committee relegated his team to a No. 10 seed. Whether the Shockers are in the MVC or the AAC, they’ll roll.

Sully just released a breakdown of WSU's "way too early" rankings. Of those included, our highest ranking was No. 5 from Yahoo and the lowest was No. 10 from Fanrag.

Two articles made mention of whether we'll be playing in the MVC or AAC and on both, Paul added "(My edit: it's AAC)"

Well, Paul S. Certainly isn't holding back at this point. Hope his sources are correct.

Expect our ranking to drop once they start announcing the last few blue chippers to the blue bloods. It seemed that was the case 2 years ago when the earliest polls started us in the top 10 and by the time the season rolled around we were around 15.

"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."
