So we have 2 Suns fans on this board.

  • Latest Gary Parrish mock draft has Landry going to the Warriors with the 28th pick. That would certainly be a sight to see!

This is where I'd love to see him land the most. He could prove to be a great backup to Klay Thompson, and maybe hopefully take his job someday.

      • I honestly think Landry's floor is 28th. I can't see any scenario where the Warriors pass up on a knockdown shooter(the best shooter in the draft no less on significant volume) who is a great passer, understands spacing, and is a capable team defender when locked in(the key is locking in every game). I think Landry is going to open some eyes over today and tomorrow about his perceived "lack of athleticism".

Shamet has (or had before the surgeries) some tremendous ups. That part of his "athleticism" should have never been in doubt. Lateral quickness on D and apparently lacking a quick first step to be able to drive the lane are the question marks on Shamet's resume.

Most mocks disagree with that assessment. Pre-combine yet, but I've seen very few going round 1.

      • Landry had several plays where he showed a quick burst to the basket ending in a dunk. My question is why it didn't it happen more often.

I mentioned this before, and the measurements confirm my suspicions. Hand size. 8" hands which is relatively small for a basketball player.

8 inches is good enough for film. I go 7 1/2 baby (just measured).

Small hands, but he still gets the job done...

      • Measures 6'4" w/o shoes, 6'5 1/4" with shoes. So expect him to be listed a 6'5" going forward.

Several guys listed as tall or taller than Shamet are actually shorter. Grayson Allen, Zhaire Smith, the 2 Miami dudes, Malik Newman, Divencenzo.

I'm only deducing via correlation analysis from the data provided and my own racial stereotypes but... it appears that Landry's feet may not yet be 100%. Ron should not be beating a guy with a 40 in. vertical in agility/explosivity exercises.

Football has a lot of agility drills. Baker may have had more time and training in agility drills, resulting in better agility.

              • So Landry has better ups and Ron is more agile?

I personally selfishly would like to see him play for the pistons as I can watch him. Pistons only have the 42nd overall and not sure whether he will be there till then. But Pistons have 3 roster spots open currenlty and will sign a guaranteed contract with him especially since they dont a 1st round pick this year.
