  • Soren Petro, from 810 WHB in Kansas City, has us at #22 this week.
For context, he has SMU and Notre Dame ahead of us, and Xavier, Butler and Creighton
right behind, with Maryland the odd man out
Dominance is a state of mind.

Oh the irony. Wonder if Mark has had a come-to-Jesus with his notions of levels? Gregg has made a mockery of that concept in the comparative between what each has accomplished.

            • I just hope it's not one of those days where we gain a lot of votes but end up 5 votes out of #25, dead even with the team that got in/stayed in, but still just outside. I'd rather just squeak in there this week and never look back. If we are about to round off 6 or 7 more wins, which we should, I'd like the climbing to start now rather than next week.

Just asking... how many ranked teams have been left out of the NCAA tournament, if ever?

My guess is zero without doing the research. We probably won't be ranked come selection sunday if we lose between then and now though, in my opinion.

This was mentioned in another thread. It has happened two or three times.

Yeah, kinda what I thought. Perception does help.

                      • What was Barry's ranking in 2006 when they were left out? Anybody remember? Top 30 ish? Obviously they had a nice RPI.

                        • MSU has never been ranked in the AP Poll. It is an incredible feat.

                            Beat me to it.

In the sea of AP Poll ineptitude that is the MVC generally, MSU is the lone school to have never seen their name listed.

                              20-8
                              KenPom 22
                              RPI 21
                              4-8 vs top 50
                              3-1 vs 51-100
                              14-0 vs 101+

The Committee knew they were going to catch hell for putting 4 MVC teams in. MSU would have been #5. Absolutely no doubt they deserved a bid. Terrible, terrible luck that SIU won the auto bid, and Bradley reached the Finals. That was about the only way they could miss out, and it happened.

A snub if ever there was one.

                              • Unranked on Tyson Alger's ballot.

Our raw point total is going to increase significantly, but it looks like the clustering will be pretty tight at the cutoff. I think we'll just barely sneak in.
