I bet he's unstoppable as long as he's playing high-schoolers.

Here's hoping you have to eat those words at the end of the season.

You must be referring to Conner as a golfer; I have never seen him play golf, so I don't know how skillful he is. As regards Conner's basketball skills, we already know his skills.

            • My understanding is that he holds in own on golf course.

Apparently, he could not lift weights in high school because of his shoulder problems so giving him a year to work on his body could be very beneficial.

C.J. could be of some value as a defensive specialist once he gets back into shape but not sure there will be a plethora of minutes available to him this year and perhaps only marginally more next year as only John Robert's minutes will be opening up at the guard position next year.

I can see these two roomies being very key contributors down the road and don't see any real reason to use up a year of eligibility for what may be table scraps in terms of available game time this year.

                    • Keyser may be a long way behind in conditioning right now, but he has a month before official full practices start to make up ground, so don't count him out too fast. Lots of us didn't expect much from the original Tekele Cotton coming in, either -- until we heard Marshall tell us that the scoreboard moved in the right direction with him in the game as a way of explaining why Tekele was getting more minutes than his relatively scant recruiting accolades would have suggested.

Austin's weight on goshockers.com roster is 167; I hope your 175 lbs. is correct. If working with Kerry on a limited basis due to shoulder surgery this summer has resulted in 14 pounds of muscle, my response is WOW! Hopefully he remains healthy this season avoiding any injuries IMO Shocker Nation will be very pleased that AR is a Shocker.

I am hopeful that LS, AR and CJ morph into a 2.0 version of FVV, RB and TC. Given IMO the superior athletic ability of these three, the Shockers future is bright!

                        • I'm excited for these two, but this year is going to be Conner, Landry, Smith, and Allen. A red shirt year would put Austin and CJ in the drivers seat as sophomores. Hopefully we add some bigs to play with them.

I hope it is correct as well although technically it is not my 175 lbs. Paul Suellentrop reported that in the article linked above. So I hope Paul's reporting is accurate.

Thanks for the clarification - I had not read the Eagle article by Paul Suellentrop.

                              • Eric Hamilton sighting at Chipotle today. The way he ate his burrito was very fundamentally sound and very much under control. He has clearly made some strides and I can only deduce that he will be a big load this season based on what I saw.
