While I'm sure there's a valid point to be made, and that you're on the right track, any freshman under the guidance of Gregg Marshall is going to learn more than one valuable lesson if he goes either 1/10 or 4/15 from the field.

I saw that some members were asking about the games being broadcast. Unknown, at this time, but there is a good chance that the McGill game will be available on the internet (at no cost). Once I hear something, I will post here.

Last year, most of the teams who played Carleton had a good number of fans at the games (cheap admission at only $10). Some of them used the Periscope app to broadcast back home over the internet. Persicope works quite well (I have followed events on it in another sport). So, if some Shocker fans are going to the games they might want to investigate using it.

What are the dates? Is the schedule posted somewhere?

I plan on going to the games on the 9th and 10th. Has a venue been selected and have game times been announced? Last, will tickets be difficult?

The games on the 9th and 10th will be in Montreal. Here is the McGill men's basketball website (for the game on the 9th):

The official Men's Basketball page for the McGill University Redbird and Martlets

It will eventually contain information on the game and how to purchase tickets. Tickets will be cheap and you should have no problems buying them. No idea about the venue for the second game but information should become available closer to the game.

If possible, you should try to go to the August 7th game against the Carleton Ravens in Ottawa, as it will be the best game on the tour. Ottawa is only two hours driving time from Montreal.

Does anyone here know if you /have/ to take the package tour option to be able to go to these games? 5000 per person without airfare or food is way out of my budget but I did have thought to take vacation to go to these games on my own. If the tour people were doing this to help sponsor the team it would be a lot more acceptable but there is no mention of that sort of deal.

Wow...that sounds like Atlantis. I didn't think Canada would be nearly that expensive.

I highly doubt it, and @Rally Doug: seems to indicate that they are public exhibitions with no problems getting tickets.

And I agree the 5 grand is steep, especially when it's nonrefundable.

5K a pop? I can go to Rome for ten days including meals for that.

$5,000 without airfare or food sounds crazy. I would drive to Canada, stay in a reasonable motel ($100 per night) and buy your tickets in advance when they become available. A ticket is only going to cost $10-15. When tickets become available for the Carleton Ravens game, I will post the link here.

PS - When Carleton visited Syracuse two years ago, we got a package tour consisting of return motor coach, ticket in the first row directly behind the Ravens' bench and a Carleton t-shirt for $89 (Canadian).

Wow! I know Syracuse rarely plays road games, but that's pretty impressive to have an international trip and still never leave the state. :)

It's the Syracuse University Orangemen (not the Ravens) so I doubt that Carleton played the Syracuse you are talking about. After posting, I just saw your emoticon and realized that I my meter was off.

                                Carleton are the Ravens . . .
