With all of that said, Maryland's 4 seed and round of 32 appearance last year was as good of a year as Maryland had seen in a long time. This year's 5 seed and Sweet 16 was easily their best year in over a decade.
While it is always possible he could fall out of favor, I really doubt his job is in any jeopardy any time soon.

That means zero trips to the second weekend in the last 8 seasons of Gary Williams tenure, and in 4 of those 8 seasons, Maryland didn't even make the tournament at all. Williams retired along with a bunch of graduating seniors following a 19-14 year, so Turgeon didn't exactly inherit a stacked team in the fall of 2011.

Even Marshall has the good sense to say he didn't build this thing. He just refurbished it. I don't think h's just being politically correct in saying that.
It Bowles would have stayed (meaing T. did too) who knows what they could have accomplished with Wichita's backing.

I think 3 terrible hires made what he did seem like it was some Herculean effort. But let's not forget that we had just renovated Koch. The job was teed up and put there on a platter for the next coach to take and succeed.
Thank you MT, for being a comptetent coach.
Thank you for making the program attractive for GM.
Thank you GM for applying your vision and taking the program to the next level.
I'm not saying he was 100% responsible for the fund raising, but he was a part of it, and a sizable one at that. It doesn't get done without him here.
