Great analogy. Also next year on offense Denver will have 6 new starters, O line, QB, etc. So I think the analogy extends even further as both teams will be "re-loading" for next year, and most "experts" will predict a down year.

If we can pick up Kaepernick, I think the consensus will be the offense will be better (can't get much worse) while the defense won't be as good. I think the same will be true for the Shox as well.
