You can have an opinion, but so can Gregg. You prove that he is a detriment. As coach said one or two years ago, when he is on the floor, the scoreboard goes the right direction. Would he win games one on one, never. But basketball is not meant to be played one on one.

I know why coaches use the +/- thing. But it ignores other external factors. Who else is on the floor with them? Who is on the floor for the other team? It's a metric, but not a deep enough metric.

However, when players are a threat to do one thing, such as drive or shoot the 3 really well, they open up things for other players. Evan doesn't do that.

Evan's strength is intangibles. Intangibles aren't flashy and are hard to value. He can set the tone, and setup scoring like in the KU game.

What are you proposing? Put Evan on the bench? That's unthinkable. You may be alone on that one. Evan's time has gone down the past several games. Kelly's minutes are up and McDuffie is getting some minutes at the 4. Chemistry is what they are working on and Marshall has seemed to be successful in getting more out of the team the past four games. They all give something different to the team.

So I can't have an opinion? We can all observe the value he provides or doesn't provide on the court against other teams. And there are myriad statistics available today compared to 20 years ago.

Look, I am all for having the best lineup we can put on the floor. I just don't think Evan Wessel is part of that. Until someone provides me better evidence to the contrary, I will stick to my opinion.

I'm proposing he doesn't play more than 10-15 minutes per game. I believe other players provide more of a threat offensively and match up better defensively. Namely Rashard Kelly and Markis McDuffie (and Zach Brown to some extent).
