We were right at 72% for the Big 12 Tournament, and we'll be tough to beat if we stay around that or better. But you're right, FT shooting can be a struggle at times for us. Same with Memphis and UCLA, though.

    My Final Four:

    Incy
    KU
    Texas
    UCLA

Bilas and Hubert just picked us to win it. I hope they're right ... Shockingly, Vitale and Digger picked Incy. The General picked Pitt, which makes me rethink my ORU/Pitt upset hunch.

    • I have:
      Tennessee
      Georgetown
      Pitt
      UCLA

I have Pitt winning it all, and I've picked them to win it all the past couple years...I figure if you pick the same team over and over again, they have to win it all eventually.

      • Whew

Not going to lie...I was sweating it.

I have KSU in my sweet sixteen.

Oh and of course Baylor beating Purdue. I am not sold on the Big 10.

I'm sure you were with the very last pick. Congrats! :good:
          SFL is back!

          • I think K-State has a tougher road to the Sweet 16 than Baylor has.

USC is a better 6 seed than Purdue and Wisconsin is a better 3 seed than Xavier.

Neither K-State nor Baylor finished the year strong, so it will depend on whether one or both of these teams become re-energized by the prospect of everyone starting out 0-0 again.

If they continue to play as they did down the stretch then it is 1 and done for both of them.

Actually he went a step further and called out the selection process for being BIASED in FAVOR of the MID MAJORS. He said that it is obvious they give "midmajors" a pass that they don't give to the BCS schools and he just wanted them to admit it and not pretend that they don't.

Obviously, the dope that elitist, pretty boy, spoon fed, no good waste of space I wish I would played against him so I could hip check his whiny ass into the 12th row before he could scream "save me dickiev!" is a lot better than what the regular guy smokes.

                Jay, you can die anytime.

                • Ok, Doc, so that clarifies what Bilas said.

However, what we really need to know is how you feel about him? :D

                  • I have Kansas, Texas, UCLA, and Carolina in the Final 4 and Winthrop and Drake in the sweet sixteen

                    • Why does Kansas State get to play, essentially, at home as an 11 seed while Drake goes to Tampa?

                      Butler is a 7 seed.

All the soap in the world can't get these guys clean.

The lesson for the day, boys and girls, is the RPI means nothing anymore. It favored a very few non bcs teams and the NCAA is simply not going to put up with that anymore.

Every team that isn't close to their rpi seedwise is a non-bcs team.

Drake is 10 but got a 5 seed.

Butler is 17 and got a 7 seed.

Xavier is a 9 and got a 3 seed (at least 1 is right)..

Kent State is 20 and got a 9 seed.

UNLV is 23 and got an 8 seed.

BYU is 24 and got an 8 seed.

Davidson is 30 and got a 10 seed.

There sure is one hell of a lot of bias there............

The thing is, I have really always appreciated Jay's input but that comment simply proves that a Duke degree is not all it's cracked up to be.

                        • 28 of the 34 at large bids went to the "power conferences"

                          Imagine that ??????????????????????????

                          • And the five-year trend for mid-major at-large bids is trending...down, as you might guess.

Give any BCS team Illinois State's 24-9 record and 33 RPI and all of them get in.
Exactly. And that's where the problem is.
Nope. Kentucky was 12-4 in the SEC with wins against Tennessee and Vanderbilt. It's not like they were a four seed. They're an 11. Sorry but the third-place team in the SEC is going to get in the Tournament.

Illinois State got smoked by 30 in the conference final. I think that hurt them quite a bit (maybe unfairly).

You could make a case that some BCS teams, like Virginia Tech and Arizona State, got screwed just as much as Illinois State. Clearly the Georgias and San Diegos of the world took some at-large bids away from teams with better profiles.
San Diego received the automatic bid for the WCC. Gonzaga got the at-large from the league.

Because we all know that years like 2006, where multiple non-BCS teams got bids, got to the Sweet 16 and Mason got to the Final 4 makes for a horrible tournament. Better keep the mids out, or else you might have good games and compelling story lines for March Madness, and that would be awful.
