Figured this thread was the best place for this.

    • Yeah, I modified it to include the link. I was on mobile so I couldn't do it.

Fun fact: King Rice, Monmouth's coach was an assistant as Illinois State when Dan Muller played there. Rice and Muller were assistants together at Vanderbilt for 5 years before Rice left for the Monmouth job. Muller left for Illinois State the year after. Monmouth would probably paste ISUr by 20+.

          • Not really a score of interest, but did you know Dean Wade, the kid from St. John, has started every game for Kansas State as a freshman this season?

I noticed St. John broke Heights' consecutive win record over the weekend and it got me thinking about if he was playing or redshirting at KSU. He's playing, a lot, and playing very well.

Averaging 25 minutes, nearly 50% from the field, 40% from 3, 71% from the line, 3rd leading scorer at 11.3 and 5.6 boards and more steals (8) and assists (9) than turnovers (7).

            Well done young man.

            • Monmouth with wins over UCLA, USC, Notre Dame and Georgetown, regardless if those teams are having a down year, still provides a nice resume for that program. Good for the little guy.

What's funny is that their play on the court is only the second best show in the game. Their bench-cheering game is on point.

He would have made a great Shocker. I hope he becomes KSU's best player.

                  • With Bo Ryan retiring, what are the chances that Jacobson jumps at the opportunity? I know that his contract has a clause where he gets to name 2 schools each year that if he leaves to, his buyout is capped. With his connection to Wisconsin, you have to think it was one of his 2 schools on his list.

His parents are KSU alums and he grew up going to the games. I am glad the Cats got one of their own, especially since the blue bloods were courting.

I think I read this somewhere last spring that he might do this to make sure HIS choice , not Wiscy, would get the job......could be wrong...

                          • For Jacobson to jump at the opportunity, the opportunity would have to be his. It isn't.

Wisconsin has struggled though. If they turn it around and make a run, then there will be pressure to make the "interim" coach the permanent coach. If they continue to struggle, I think it will actually hurt his chances to keep the job. If I was the AD, I sure wouldn't want to be pressured into make a decision because the previous coach wanted someone else to coach. I'd want to make sure he's the right person for the job (which he might be).

Nothing personal, but I have a problem with this......the first person bitching about the "program struggling" next season is going to get a full prescription dose of stfu from the Doc.

Guess what? It's hard to stay at the top. Unless you're 1 of 3-5 schools, you're going to have some kind of valley now and then. Wisky was in the last TWO Final Fours.

They're struggling???? That's completely insane. They lost an incredible senior class. Bo Ryan, winningest % all time Big 10. Not Indiana, not Michigan or Michigan State. Wisconsin.

                                STRUGGLING?

I think not. A little too much "what have you done for me lately" triple espresso perhaps. (not completely directed at @Stickboy46:, just a general comment).
