'shockers are onto something really good with him, it seems to me. if shamet is a high jump track athlete, isn't taylor a 40 yd dash track athlete?
Bottom line is that Taylor will play 8 to 12 minutes per game at PG if he can beat out Shamet, Frankamp, and Baker for those minutes. He's not likely to make a splash until his sophomore season.Livin the dream

FVV played 31.5 and Baker 32.7 mpg. During the first third of the season , I expect those minutes to hold for those seniors. After that, I'm hoping for a lot more help than last year.

A KC-area poster watched Taylor in HS and thought thatTaylor was one of the better PG's out of the KC area in recent memory. In Taylor's Sr year, that team didn't have a quality SG, but did have a decent backup PG. Taylor was moved to SG.
If all that is true, then Taylor was evaluated as a SG when his best position is PG. That pretty much puts a player way off the radar. The Shox may have found a guy who was improperly evaluated by the scouting services. VanVleet was backing Armstead in March. We'll see if Taylor repeats that pattern.
There's a lot of competition for backup minutes at PG. Baker is solid, Frankamp is a possibility, and reports from summer say that Shamet sees the court well and can make some uncanny passes to open players. VanVleet didn't have anything resembling that level of competition for minutes.
This is probably the toughest year in the Marshall era for backup minutes at PG. If anybody can take Baker out of that role, we have a WINNER. I don't think we're going to have any real idea about Taylor until some time next year. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.
