    Maybe the Cancun game still stings too?
    I just want to stand on land...

    @rjl:
    If I had a gun with two bullets and was in a room with Hitler, Bin Laden, and a Creighton fan, I think I'd shoot the Creighton fan twice.

        Iowa, not Iowa State.

        Cyclone fans got a karma feast last week. They should probably shut their mouths for a little while.

                    Self did this to the coach at San Diego State several years ago. I can't remember the player's name but he was a juco transfer (6' 8" forward) that gave a verbal commitment but then accepted an offer from KU at the last minute. I know Coach Fischer was really pissed and made pointed references about Coach Self breaking an unwritten rule.

                      @Dan:Wolken: Why Gregg Marshall handles job rumors differently than other coaches, and why his AD is fine with it http://usat.ly/1CbkUPl via @usatoday

                      Good read...

                          my only annoyance in the article is that they think we can't compete on salary. We have a pretty rich man that loves coach and supports him and the university....

                            We can't always place things squarely on the shoulders of Charles Koch. An increase in ticket prices wouldn't be out of the question (just don't go KU's route or a lot of loyal long-time shocker season ticket holders will be out) . A good portion of our fan base is getting on in years and may not have that kind of disposable income. I would hate to see them excluded after all the support they gave during the very lean years. Then you have the young families. Don't want to see them get priced out either. For myself, I can afford whatever they decide to throw at me -- just as long as it isn't the kitchen sink.

                              This has been addressed previously. Believe me, this doesn't all fall to Mr. Koch. There are many local supporters who are part of the coaches' club for the sole purpose of handing over cash that goes directly to coach salaries. I'm sure there are contingency plans in place as well. Too many people understand the value of HCGM to our team, school and city. We ain't letting him get away that easily.

                                well to be fair, the university can't. But private donors can. There is a difference.
