  • First punishment should be to make Frankamp read every article and listen to every broadcast that mentions his situation.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

    • boltforge, in one generation some of us may not be here.....25 years would make me 85. Given my genes, I'll probably still be alive, but if I am, I'm not sure I would be getting drunk and if I were, it would probably be at home. No one likes an old drunk fart. Just sayin'.

      • Aargh.....how about Frankamp's punishment would be an 'interview' by the newest reporter for MVC Fans, jjclamdip.

Based on some of his postings today, he either knows (and doesn't like) the Frankamp family, or he's just pulling it out of his @$$.

I'll bet Mike says something right off the bat regarding this situation and that there will be no further discussion. As it should be.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

This is more likely to be the way that Marshall will handle the situation.

To be clear, the 2 are NOT the same, nor are they that close to being the same. So just stop before removing all doubt.

Driving a vehicle while texting is six times more dangerous than driving while intoxicated according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) The federal agency reports that sending or receiving a text takes a driver’s eyes from the road for an average of 4.6 seconds, the equivalent -- when traveling at 55 mph -- of driving the length of an entire football field while blindfolded.
From the road I listen (Tune In radio) at home I watch ( season Ticks )

                • My guess that tonight a statement will be read on the show and no questions will be taken on this issue. At least that is how I would handle it.

MK will make a short statement on CF and that will be it for tonight. No questions.

How about ... the car picks you up from the nursing home (they let you sneak out because you always drive them crazy on game day) and drops you off at the front of the Roundhouse. It then parks itself. After the game it picks you up and takes you home while you post on shockernet about the game.

                      • The important thing is to get to the bottom of why he put himself and others in this dangerous situation so it doesn't happen again. I've seen good kids that seemingly have few to no problems with depression, drugs, alcohol, grades, etc. all of a sudden take a plunge off of the cliff and have huge problems.

You can make "data" say whatever you want! 90% of everyone knows that! I believe only in hyperbole!

Fine but consider this...... You get behind the wheel and you're impaired. You're impaired the entire time whether conditions are good or bad, the other drivers are paying attention or not etc etc. Every condition is affected by your impairment.

Now, let's say I'm driving down 29th between Rock and Oliver and I look around and there are no cars within at least 500 feet of me traveling at 35 mph. I look down at my phone and text to my wife "I'll get dinner" over 3 separate glances at my "conditions" (traffic around me).

While I am not condoning, at all, texting and driving, would you not agree the 2 are entirely different? And then what about a hands free phone? I can't talk on a hands free device which is basically the same as talking to someone in the car?

I will admit that I have on occasion texted (under the circumstances I noted above) and I have NEVER taken my eyes off the road for anywhere near 4.6 seconds. That is a flipping eternity and while I don't dismiss that happens and shouldn't, you're taking the very worst of one situation and trying to compare to the average of the other and that's why the 2 aren't the same. At all.

                              • All I KNOW is I dodge a whole lot more cars with drivers texting in a day then apparently have been drunk in the last 20 yrs of driving ,,, although I suppose some of those texters could also be drunk. lol
