I have high expectations for myself which I admit I rarely achieve, but I will do my darnedest not to ask from others that I am not willing to do myself. At least that's my goal. I think I'm neither smart nor wonderful, but I do expect us all to live within the rules.
Hogwash. If you 'do your darnedest (sp.) not to ask from others that I am not willing to do myself', you fell short of your goal today with your gratituitous insult directed at me over a post that had nothing to do with you.

    Better luck to you tomorrow.

And how many innocent people have been killed by someone driving while texting or talking. I bet if you were to ask the person who lost a loved one to some moron texting and driving (or speeding, or driving carelessly) they would feel the same way.

My point is that negligent behavior that hurts others can take many forms, some legal, some illegal. And we should make every effort to forgive people's bad judgement so long as they regret their acts and are willing to atone for them.

          BUMP, breaking news to follow.

Wichita State basketball player Conner Frankamp has been arrested on suspicion of DUI, records show.

Frankamp was arrested at 12:33 a.m. Sunday at Kellogg and Maize, Wichita police Lt. James Espinoza said. He was also cited for “improper driving on laned roadway” and “unsafe turning or stopping,” according to a booking report released by the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office.

Frankamp, 19, transferred to Wichita State from Kansas last month. He is sitting out this semester and next as part of NCAA rules regarding transfers, but has been practicing with the team. He was the Wichita City League’s career scoring leader while at North High.

          Not surprising considering the source.

          • Go to ESPN's CBB page and watch the video of Katz and Greenberg discussing the situation. Greenberg has a good take, I think.

In addition to double secret probation, coach needs to assign FVV as his probation officer. Conner needs to spend some quality time in Rockford, ILL, to get some proper perspective on what focus, hard work, hard knocks, and dedication are really about.

He needs FVV's step-dad's ( Joe Danforth ) basketball bootcamp.

Yeah there were a lot of those scumbags up there calling CF every terrible name in the book, and even threatening to beat his arse, after he announced he was leaving. Probably the same dumbarse chickenhawks. F*ckem!

But u do illistrate there is a need to change public perception about inattentive driving due to texting. It will probably be getting worse in future generations.

Can someone post this video embedded into the post. Damn work firewall will not allow ESPN videos to play.

Yes, he did. We have more than enough young people in this country that have been thrown on the trash heap and some of them deservedly so. But you at least have to try and salvage those that you can. If it doesn't work move on, but at least give it a good college try. However, the consequences for Conner have to be somewhat painful and enough to make a lasting impression on the young man. Conner may well be at the biggest crossroad of his young life at this point. Hopefully, he makes the correct choices going forward.

                          Let's hope he is gone.
So do you have evidence that CF has a drinking problem? Or are you the type of dirt bag that makes **** up about 19 yr old WSU basketball players that you don't know?

                          • SBShock, I remember when people considered DUI's as a badge of courage. Or when Texas outlawed open containers. Funny thing, outlawing open containers caused a lot of pushback from people who thought it was their 'constitutional right' to be able to drive down the road with an open beer or a mixed drink.

I would expect the same behavior exhibited by the people who think it's their 'constitutional right' to be able to text while driving.

Thanks for recognizing the point I'm making. When people have loved ones hurt or killed by someone engaging in grossly negligent behavior, they have every right to be both angry and indignant.

Nah. In one generation your car will drive your drunk butt home while you text drunk face selfies.
