But, for the minutes played, he's been one of the most productive players on an otherwise all-star team. Can't hold him back or limit him much longer. He's uber-athletic and a damn good basketball player.
Next year Carter is simply going to be an animal. Athletic, talented and hungry. No adjustment period next year. High octane dunk-o-rama. Plus. He will continue to develop his already good mid range game.

This is why I don't have a high stress level going into the tourney this year. We're not some flash in the pan/catching lighning in a bottle team who if they don't have a succesful tourney run, won't be back for years. If we go out in the round of 16, it will be sad, but you know we'll be right back next year. Contrast that with how Creighton fans must feel this year. Man, if they don't make an elite 8 this year, when will they EVER?

If we could get decent play out of Shaq and Bush at the 5 we could be really really good next year too. Carter should have a great season for us next year. He will more than likely take over for Cle. Losing Cle is huge though. I think Cle takes a lot of pressure off our guards because the other team has to focus on him quite a bit. He causes so many matchup problems. Getting Atwood would definitely help us down low next year. At least at the 4. Still worried about the 5

There's absolutely NO WAY we can compete next year. If we had Duke, Kansas, North Carolina or Kentucky's schedule we would be lucky to win 3 or 4 games next year. We graduate all the best players after this season and sadly are just a flash in the pan program who is getting very...VERY lucky. Every decent team we play has a terrible game against us. If those teams would've played like they "normally" do.....we would have LOST all those games. Simply...Wichita St. is LUCKY!!!! This current team is garbage and will be exposed in the first round. Get ready to see for the first time in history a #1 seed getting smacked in the mouth by the #16 team next week. If we could just recruit real athletes like we used too (ala Rick Conn, K.C. Hunt, etc) I would feel a lot better about our future...but the kids we have coming in next year...OMG....just terrible.

The 'wake up' part is what I was trying to do after posting on here many, many moons ago at 2-a.m. after a loss on a work night and trying to get up for work that same day later. You were the only poster (you had a different handle) to be found that wanted to discuss the game as we burned the midnight oil from both ends. Our beloved Shocks were not near as good then as now but here we were. Your satire is what some of our foes wish for us and the sooner the better for them . Lot's of jealousy and negativity we hear from the cynics which means we have their full attention now.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

well, if they don't win the national championship this year, they'll probably win it next year, objectively speaking.

see: fred van vleet or isiah thomas

That's the beauty of it. I feel like we have a pretty big window to make several runs.

I am confident WSU will hve a good seson next year. There's a lot of talent returning. With that said - here's a rundown on the taller players on the team this year.

                          Lufile - 6'9" Sr - 16.6 minutes
                          Coleby - 6'9" Sr - 12.9 minutes
                          Early - 6'8" Sr - 27.3 minutes
                          Carter - 6'7" Jr - 18.3 minutes
                          Green - 6'7" Fr - 4.8 minutes
                          Morris - 6'7" Redshirt - 0 minutes
                          Wiggins - 6'6" Sr - 15.1 minutes
                          Bush - 6'6" Fr - 2.1 minutes

Here's what we've got taller than 6'5" with any D1 experience next year:

                          Carter - 6'7" Jr - 18.3 minutes
                          Green - 6'7" Fr - 4.8 minutes
                          Bush - 6'6" Fr - 2.1 minutes

I'm confident Morris can have some productive mintes, but he's still 6'7". We're going to be relying heavily on JuCo's and Fr in the front court.

I think the Shox have enough to stay ranked all year. I'm afraid some fans will be disappointed with merely staying in the top 25 all year.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.
