He would get the starters out early to avoid injury.

Has any other coach in NCAA tournament history coached both a 16 seed and a 1 seed?
Marshall has seen the bottom side of the boot in that game. There may come a time for making a point in the tournament, but it is not against the 16 seed.

Yeah, I don't think it's going to become a Midwest regional homecoming. Unfortunately, the actual geographic aspect of the NCAA "regional" basketball tournaments has long since gone out of existence. Only the #1 and #2 seeds are somewhat protected to stay close to home. Beyond that, anyone could be sent anywhere.

For all the seemingly good wins Larry Brown's club has, there is one big number that is working against it: 289, which LiveRPI.com shows as SMU's non-conference SoS. The committee has been known to knock teams for that (see Colorado 2011, Maryland 2013, and Pittsburgh getting lower seed in 2013). By the way, Jamie Dixon certainly didn't learn anything from last year, as his team's non-conference SoS this year is another poor rank of 225.

I have never once in my lifetime been able to completely relax and have zero concerns whatsoever about my beloved Shockers in the two weeks leading up to Selection Sunday (well I guess in the 90s but that was for the wrong reasons).
This is amazing.
Enjoy the ride my friends.
