Nice breakdown, CBB. If Embid isn't 80%+ I don't see KU making the elite 8. With Embid they will be a tough out for anyone.

How is Louisville a projected #4 seed? They are ranked #5 and should be a #2 seed.

I do. Call Marcus Smart a piece of crap a couple times, he gets himself ejected and then Okie State doesn't stand a chance. Then Gottlieb deletes twitter, quits his job and is never heard from again.

Any chance KU falls to a 4 with an early exit in the Big 12 tourney?

Maybe lock up #1 overall seed if that happened.

The ESPN bracketology looks like a lot of fun for Shocker fans if we can take care of business. Snack on a 16 seed, then get a potential 8/9 game against K-State to settle the matter for any Catbackers who can't respect little old WSU. I expect that they will play "their worst game ever and beat themselves. WSU had nothing to do with it" when the play us :)... If K-State can't get to us, we would get another shot at Jank and Nic Moore with SMU.

After that, if we play like the champions that we are, we will march through to the Elite 8 and wait patiently for Kansas. It will be pretty disappointing though, because they will be nowhere to be found. Utah Valley (their currently projected first game) is just a "crappy mid-major". That means KU will lose to them.

Having a round in St. Louis is pretty fun, but how much more fun would it be to have a round in Omaha?

I would sure love to desecrate that arena with thousands of Shocker fans. Drink their beer, violate the restrooms, cheer louder than anything that arena has ever experienced, park over the lines in their parking lots, and basically paint the entire town black & yellow for the weekend.

The best part? Creighton is off in some other city losing in the first round, and they can't even do anything about what is happening downtown while we March through their city and arena on our way toward another successful run in the dance. They have a guy setting all kinds of records and leading them to the best their program has ever been, and their favorite rival down in Wichita is taking a dump on everything by somehow being better at the same time.

The scenario you are describing could happen next year, as Omaha will be a second/third round host. The beauty will be that Creighton won't be in some far off land. They'll get to watch us up close and personal as they are sitting on the sidelines watching postseason play after their sub-.500 record when the Big East teams beat the hell out of them for the one year of Wookie and SoW running the score up on them.

I wouldn't discount Creighton too fast. They do have Gibbs coming back next year!!! Lol!!!!!!!!!!

Is it weird that I don't think SMU is a lock at this point for the tournament at this point? For all the seemingly good wins Larry Brown's club has, there is one big number that is working against it: 289, which LiveRPI.com shows as SMU's non-conference SoS. The committee has been known to knock teams for that (see Colorado 2011, Maryland 2013, and Pittsburgh getting lower seed in 2013). By the way, Jamie Dixon certainly didn't learn anything from last year, as his team's non-conference SoS this year is another poor rank of 225.

Yeah, I am sure he is trying to blow the record out of the water with a third Senior Night dedication.
