  • A redshirt year will be much more valuable when they are seniors than anything they could contribute to the team right now.

      This and this.

Marshall putting in the deep bench before halftime was an omen of things to come. Scrubs came in way too early and when the starters came back, everything was way out of whack and rhythm. Started playing prevent offense, letting the shot clock wind down. It was about this time that Loyola felt like they had a chance.

I like our bench guys to get some playing time, but I don't EVER want to see it at the expense of letting the other team think they have a chance to win. This happened tonight.

When we're up by 40 with 10 minutes to go, ok, we can watch it dwindle down to 20 or 25. But when you're up 20 with 13 minutes left, and then the bench empties, that's just asking for it.

57 points against freaking Loyola. Loyola is in no way good. This was all of our undoing. Doyle only came alive late, when again, he felt like his team had a chance and played inspired. Outside of that, Cotton shut him down. He was a non-factor.

      Again, moving on.

If they don't play hard in practice, there's no way they'll be playing in an actual game. He also said that Holland needs to get bigger and Morris needs to get smaller.
Kids, they just don't understand. I hope both of these young men come out next season totally STRAC!

          • I didn't get to hear HC3GM on the radio after the game. What was his attitude/stance about the game?

              • The sky is not falling. Improvements are coming tomorrow at practice. We will have a very nice win Saturday. Just win, learn from it, and win some more. Sleep well tonight. We are having a very special Season and not every single win is pretty but we are 22-0 so far.

We need to sweep Evansville for sure and we will play one game at a time, with our eyes on the tasks that are before us. We have never been 22-0 before and the records just keep on coming. 3G will get us focused, primed and ready to pop Evansville. You'll see. You'll see. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Saturday at 2pm at 21st and Hillside=23-0 and 10-0.

But they really didn't have a chance. We won by 12 playing terrible the last 17 minutes.

                  • Highlights from tonight's game coming up on SC (it says SHOCKERS STAY PERFECT on the ticker). " THE LEAD" has been pretty good saying something like the Shockers cruise to an easy win.

                    • marshall was pretty disappointed, said it was going to be a light practice tommorrow, but changed his mind, "said we have alot of things to work on"...so I imagine it will be a fun practice tommorrow

                        • We've been through this numerous times people; I think it's partially by design. All coach wants is the win - if he gives more time to the bench and the team chemistry falls apart during a game - so be it, as long as we get the W. It lends itself to better practices and games in the future - hence, we still have a lot to work on - and they believe it.

                          • If we win by 1 or 99 what's it matter? A win is a win and no one after tonight will remember the score.

                            • maybe he was wanting to give the big minute guys a rest ?
a win is a win, disappointed it was only 57-45 but 22-0 sounds pretty good to me.

                              • CARTER COUNTRY! The Cotton dunk off the pass from Wiggins and the Darius Carter late dunk both make the SC highlights. The SC coverage was all very positive, no mention of any second half let down or come back by Loyola.
