The link was posted on another thread.

What do we expect? All of the sudden, Pitt sucks and Gonzaga was the most overrated team in the history of the NCAA.

Oh well. Do we really need the media to validate what we know is awesome?

    • Can anyone offer a solution to downloading the audio podcast for my own use on the knss site? I can get it to play, but can't save it.

I can get Kennedy to call you and recite the game verbatim. He wouldn't do it for everyone, but for you I know he would (sorry, couldn't resist it since I am a zero when it comes to technical help).

Lost among all the fingers wagged in the Zags’ direction, in all the skepticism over whether a team from the West Coast Conference deserved a top seed in the first place, was how Wichita State played down the stretch. The Shockers deserved far more credit than they were given.
And that is just fine with me. One game at a time. Get past LaSalle first. But in the scenario that we do get past LaSalle it will be good for the national media and the winner of the Ohio State-Arizona game to chalk our win up to Gonzaga choking... Choke on this world...

Doesn't the national media understand that the MVC was the 9th ranked conference (out of 33) and that Evansville has been hovering in and out of the top 100 in the RPI most of the year? As WSU fans, it's hard to accept being swept by EU, but this year they weren't exactly Presbyterian College. It's too bad that Evansville's name just oozes 'small time' and they and we suffer for it. If we had lost two games to Boston College, Vanderbilt, Rutgers, Dayton and Texas would the national media still point this out? (Those teams all have worse RPI's than Evansville).

I digress, but it's crap like that I hope continues to leave a chip on the player's shoulders.
It's called denial. Pretend non-BCS teams don't exist; even when they beat you, and eventually they won't.... This is why I don't hate on KU quite as much as others. I figured out a long time ago that the majority of the top BCS teams have been practicing the same denial mentality toward the non-BCS teams. And that is why we always want to play BCS teams in the tourney. Playing Gonzaga was a no-win situation for both teams, no matter what the result...

With my windows xp, if you click on the download button it brings up a little pop-up on the bottom of the screen that asks you if you want to open the file or save it. If I right click on the download button, one of the options it brings up is "save target as" and then I just click that and pick where I want to save it to.

                • Someone let me know. When we were making our second half comeback, Cle gets the ball near the baseline appears to jump up and then passes to Ron for that huge three pointer. Some guys at work and myself have been going round-and-round about whether or not he actually traveled. What I saw was Cle elevate to his toes but one foot was on the ground ergo, he didn't travel. My colleagues believe he did travel and was a huge non-call we benefited from. What say you?

                  • I believe the official even looked and pointed at his foot as to say that it stayed down. I know it looks odd/bad but I'm pretty certain he kept it down. Therefore, not a travel.

His feet were planted in cement and he just freakishly extended his triple jointed ankles.

During the game I had exactly your friends thought. On second viewing I thought his left toe stayed down.

I say you work with a bunch of beakers................just re-watched it. No travel. Olynyk did the same thing in the 1st half

I was surprised that a travel wasn't called, due to the awkwardness involved with the play. However, when I watched it again last it looked like he kept a toe down.

                            • Whether he actually traveled or not I think the Shocks were fortunate that they didn't call travelling. It was very close and it was just one of the plays that "looked" like he travelled.

In any case, I can pick out several no-calls that went against the Shocks. For example, the offensive rebound where Kelly Olynyk appeared to push Cle and go over his back for a put back.

Also, the charge call on Cle in the 1st half after he made a steal a drove to the basket was a very key call at the time. We totally had the momentum at that point and then shortly after that EO picked up his flagrant 1.

What we do know is there were an awful lot of plus plays made by a number of Shocker players down the stretch. 23 points in 9 possessions late. I am glad we ended up on the plane of existence.

I was really irritated with Cle on the charge though. When he stole the ball Malcolm was right next to him and I though he should have flipped the ball to Mal and let him lead the break.

Thing is, if any of these calls, were made differently it there is no way to know which way the game would have gone after that. We would be in a totally separate plane of existance. Back to the Future and all ya' know.

Yeah, he never traveled, but what do you think would have been called in the regular season in the Valley?
