The KU out-of-bounds player ran the baseline and the WSU player followed and ran into the other KU player waiting for the pass. It was a set play by KU trying to get a foul called. The officials didn't fall for it.

I'm not sure I've ever seen that called.

This game is important because our University's future conference affiliation may be at stake. Get this win and new doors may open up. Certainly new conversations will take place, no question about that. What game in our history had THAT much riding on it?

WSU defeated the #1 team in the country. How does that get any better?

I know I said KU in N.O. But we just beat the best...

                *** ****, right. Shox!

Dec. 14th 1964, Michigan vs. Wichita State
In a classic #1 vs. #2 battle the top ranked Wolverines defeated #2 Wichita State 87-85. The game was played at Cobo Arena in Detroit. Cazzie Russell drained a jumper with 1 second left to give Michigan the victory.
(6'5) Russell scored 28 points and had 9 rebounds. (6'10) Bill Buntin totaled 22 points and 8 rebounds. Oliver Darden had 18 points and 7 rebounds who became NBAer's. The Shockers had (6'7) Dave Stallworth, and (6'10)Nate Bowman who became NBAer's.
Sadly, I remember it all too well. I still think Stallworth got pushed out of bounds with four seconds left.

Too much history for it to be the greatest. I think the greatest is yet to come. Perhaps even this year.

It is amazing though that we not only knocked off a #1 seed but also the #1 team in the AP and Coaches poll. And the voting isn't even close. Gonzaga is clearly the #1 team in the nation. Louisville got the overall #1 seed in the tourney however that works out. Just for giggles, pay attention to "others receiving votes". We received one vote in the coaches poll and knocked off the #1 team in the country. Crazy...

It was a big game but I have to agree the next games can and will be bigger. Its scary how much things are similar to 06. Playing a lower seed in the Sweet 16 similar to playing George Mason. I was telling my son tonight during the first half that there is a difference and that difference is that this run feels more like our NIT run and thats probably due this team being a Marshall team and 06 not. HCGM is such an amazing motivator and he seems to be able to get his team to feel like they are just as good as anyone they play. We're not winning these games with smoke and mirrors, we're coming out and going toe to toe with whomever we are up against and beating them. Marshall has brought the type of Athletes here that makes that possible. Thursday night now becomes one for the ages, I know that we've gone farther a long time ago but things have changed. Back then sports were big but they were covered for 3 minutes during the local news and with a few articles in the papers and magazines. Now things are so much bigger and the lights are brighter. I love our team, I love our coach and I want to see them bask in the lights as long as they can.

                          Congrats!

What a hard fought game. Huge respect to the play of your guys tonight. I mean, my God, that last shot was from like half court! I thought the officiating on both sides was questionable, but you definately earned the W. Sucks to have the season end so early, but best of luck to ya'll! Go kick some Big East/Big 10 conference ass! :)

Also, heard from Gonzaga friends at the game that the WSU fans were super polite and respectful after the win! Thank you!

Back at you. For your information, John Higgins is no fan favorite of this board. While he has a great reputation, he has been involved in several strange gamesof ours and some bizarre calls have been made.

I noticed on your board people were complaining about him being an MVC ref. No advantage to us trust me.

Wish we could play every year.
