Don't know but we lost to Wichita High School...

1906-07 Dec. 11 Willis Bates Wichita High School L, 29-24

    And played others...
    WILLIS BATES
The 1905-06 school year was the first in which basketball
received any attention at Fairmount. The team was organized
late in the season, but made a good showing winning from
Hutchinson YMCA and Mulvane High School, which held
the Sumner County championship. In addition to basketball
coach, Willis Bates was also Physical Director. The 1905-06
team won 2 and lost 4. The 1906-07 team improved to 3-6,
and the 1907-08 finished at 2-3.

Willis was a decent bench coach but a terrible recruiter.

        1ab. This one.
I agree with the Battle of New Orleans. It seemed like that game was anticipated by the whole city, and the win celebrated by everyone in town and even in the cemeteries.

              I loved Cheese Johnson.

I moved my season tickets from the stands to the folding chairs on the floor. At that time, the folding chairs were located next to the water fountain on floor level of the northeast corner of the arena. Cheese used to set up on offense so close to me that I could almost reach out and touch him. I enjoyed that seat location and player more than any other, since I have been a season ticket holder.

Cheese was so hard to guard.

Sorry for my deviation from the thread title.

We got a lucky no call on the base line, when a Shocker defender knocked Darnell Valentine on his butt. At least I think it was Valentine.

I think it was Valentine. I have the Battle of New Orleans on DVD. How much trouble do you think I would get with the NCAA if I posted the whole game? Maybe I should just rip the last bit and post it.

When does the time lapse on the copyright? It isn't indefinite.

For example I am working on a revised version of "Sense and Sensibilities" which incorprates mixed martial arts and "Bar Rescue"

no question battle of NO because it was KU we beat. I think the game set an all time attendance record also. going back to the mid 60's Michigan game we lost there - we responded by beating THEM the following year at home. as i remember the game score was 100-94 and THEY were #1 coming in and we were #2 in the nation. I was the FIRST student in line for tickets after staying outside the arena all night long in line in freezing weather

Yes. That was a good try by coach Owens but the refs didn't fall for it. That was a perfect example where the referees don't want to take the game out of the players hands. Good trick though.

It probably depends if there is any copyright or whether you're trying to make a profit on it.

as I remember it Valentine pulled a shocker player into him intentionally and flopped but that was a long time ago so I could be wrong

Sure wish we would have had the 'X-Man' for the B of NO; we would have thrashed KU, LSU and taken the Final Four by storm.
