  • Joy Igotvodka (can’t ever remember how to spell his last name) played really well.

Not sure how you keep him off the court when the others are healthy.

Obviously, you’re talking about the Scott Thompson years. Those are difficult to forget.

      • Didn't get to watch. Listened on the radio the last 8 or 9 minutes. Game was over. Appears to be a great win. Looking at the box score, not sure what happened. 21-25 from the line helps.

            • This Shocker team seems to take it to the rack and draw more fouls than last Season.

This Shocker team has a true pg which has really helped.

These Shockers are better free throw shooters than last Season

Again though, these Shockers still are not a 3pt shooting team and are at their best working the ball inside for higher % shots or drawing fouls.

After on the verge of being upset last game, the Shocks played their best half this Season during the 2nd half last night.

Pluto was my very good friend last night. The announcers also seemed ready for us to beat Duke. Yikes!

Sure glad MB became eligible. He has given us steady minutes.

No team so far can stop Q. Ballard inside. Hoping we utilize him even more. So glad he is back playing.

                  • On 3 pt. Shooting C. Washington leads us at .455 and is 5-11. AJ is next at .333 and is 4-12. The Shocks are .297 as a team. Take it to the rack most of the time looks good to me.

It's also available "on demand" on Peacock, but you can't fast forward through commercials!

Doesn’t include the countless throw-it-up-at-the-rim shots that have zero chance of going in that are essentially turnovers.

                        • Per usual, ShockRef had it right last game and I didn't. Joy did earn more minutes and, damn. Confidence and aggressiveness was up and he was a disruptor out there. Very much needed to be sure, and he did his job.

And that's my phrase of the game. Do your job. In 5 of the last 6 games, the Shocks have mostly "done their job". This team doesn't have a lot, if any, superstars that do everything well. But they have a bunch of guys that do one or two things very well. If and when they can accentuate their own strengths and more importantly, not try and do things they aren't good at, they will be successful. Perhaps very successful.

We certainly got some help from SLU last night. Still not exactly sure why they started firing up a lot of BAD 3s (nothing wrong with good 3s when you have shooters, and they do) but they had a lot of success getting into the lane and their post to post game was strong in the first half and then after halftime they abandoned it, thank you very much. A few transition baskets later and ...... BOOM. Game over.

There were a few possessions where we got out into transition, spread the floor and got wide open 3s from guys we want shooting wide open 3s. That is HCPM's milieu. And I like it.

I like the energy and effort this team brings to the table. They aren't perfect, but they get after it and play hard. And we all know that is a trait which FHCGM insisted upon from his players, and as much as anything, why this fan base embraced them so warmly. And I'm not saying we're there yet, but I do like the direction. These guys at least deserve our support at home.

                              • I'm encouraged we actually have talent coming off the bench and forcing their way into the lineup. So much so that some veteran players may lose a few minutes here and there.
