Lmao that’s pretty gracious considering how bad that game was.

And even then I question what WSU's finances will allow them to do. The fact that the WSU-ICAA financial report for FYE 06/30/24 has not been posted yet when it was usually out in late September or early October for the past 10 years or so seems to me like a bad sign. At this point I wonder if it will be released at all. The question is why is this the case? But it doesn't seem to be much of a concern so perhaps it really doesn't matter.

At the end of the day, we will play some out of our mind games (in a good way). We will also play at times like we did last night. My unbiased expectation for Shocker basketball this year is a bid to the NIT. We have an NIT roster of players. It is above average, but not good and certainly not great. We also have an above average coach. I hope he will recruit his arse off for next year, because we potentially lose 8 players that will be out of eligibility if my count is correct. This year's group might be our best team for a couple of years.

If this is our best team for a couple of years, in this transfer portal era, then we don’t stand a chance at ever coming back. The apathy will have long set in and we’ll be just like Butler. A once great, flash in the pan of a program. And I’ll be honest - I don’t know if I’d be willing to stay up til 3am watching that either.

I’m here to see the program recover. Not shrivel up and die.

I still stand on the point that in this run-down garbage ass AAC, with this senior laden of a team, we need to pretty much make the tourney or basically the semi/final of the NIT (but even then, the NIT is not what it once was either in terms of representation).

i know that’s high expectations. But this is the portal era, our program is on its last breaths of air, and with three HCs salaries on the books, we have to produce real tangible results.

I suppose it could be argued that once GM and Brown’s salaries are paid up, we could see the comeback then. But imo, you’ll have lost the momentum of a new AD + coach hire then as well as the boosters who have been slowly coming back (as far as I’m aware). In other words, it’s too late.

Not even close (agreed). We were down a fringe G-League player that changed the entire game plan. If HE was playing last night...he would've had 10 blocks and completly changed thier attack. Mills let his boys play (possibily an experimental teaching game without him) and allowed it to be a close game for too long. The G-leaguer is a healthy must!!!
