          • Now we just gotta keep the momentum going and stay there!
"Ralph Miller was one of the finest coaches in the history of intercollegiate basketball. His teams were always fundamentally sound, team oriented, well conditioned, and ran both their offense and defense with great patience. I know of no coach whose teams competed against his, whether it be at Wichita State, Iowa, or Oregon State, who did not have great respect for him."—John Wooden

            • VCU ranked above us, that pisses me off.

              • And since we have beaten 2 of the 3 teams directly in front of us (VCU and CU), there will be opportunity for voters to move us up rather quickly now that those three teams are bunched together and people start to ask themselves how WSU stacks up against them (so long as we keep winning, of course).

Interesting, Gasaway was our biggest cheerleader a year ago. He had us ranked 8th heading into the MVC Tournament IIRC, then caught a ton of **** on twitter when we screwed the pooch against VCU in the first round. Gun shy, I suppose.

                  • Really interesting breakdown at the top of this week's poll.

First place votes: Duke 39, Michigan 11, Syracuse 8, Kansas 7.

I am too lazy to look but I would imagine you have to go back at least 8 years to find a poll this late in the season with 4 different teams receiving first place votes. I would not be surprised if you have to go back much, much further.

This thing is wide open this year. I think it's finally the season that a non-BCS school breaks the glass ceiling and takes home a title. Nobody at the top holds a candle to Kentucky's team from a year ago and there is serious talent at the top of the MWC/A-10/MVC/WCC.

Leave them be. Hararassing usually ends up working in the opposite direction.

THIS!!! The Shocks cannot afford another loss in the next 3 weeks. Our last four games are not kind. 1 home game against Evansville and 3 away games against Ill St, IN St, and CU.

No need to harass. Just need to mention that the Shockers have beaten VCU and Creighton. Almost all of those had both VCU and Creighton in their Top 20.
