2024-2025 Games of Interest

I get it. This is my last post re KP. My focus was not intended to be on him but on OUR lack of interest in him which I believe was the reason he transferred.

You are HCPM. You know there are agents in the ear of both, enticing them to transfer.

What do you do?

a) Sell your soul to the devil by lying and guaranteeing 25+ minutes to both, in order to retain both and end up with a poisonous player all year
b) Waffle around and tell both they may or may not get 25 minutes, and have a high risk of losing them both
c) Have integrity and tell one of them they are likely to get 25+ minutes, and tell the other one you only have 15 minutes to give knowing you will likely need to replace him

Since I have been asked I will reply. I don't accept your premise that he was a "poisonous player". He was a very valuable player that wasn't used right IMO and was not rightfully respected by his team mates or the coach. Going thru game films certain players should have been called out for their poor court vision in finding him and the situation corrected. I think he got frustrated not getting the ball many times when he SHOULD have. While QB certainly deserved the starting center role I am not in the camp that KP wasn't valuable at PF for at least ten minutes per game. I would have told him he would get approx 15-18 minutes at center and another 10 at PF hoping 26-28 minutes a game would keep him satisfied. My opinion, of course, not shared by many others.

The Geese were on the verge of blowing the Owls out of the CoC barn before a couple of 3s got FAU a bit closer. 64-57 The Drake with about 4 left.

FAU a little better athletes, Drake a better team, coaching and shooting. They take GREAT shots and some kid is 6-8 from 3 this game. 68-59. Drake is just solid. New coach (D2 guy) knows what he is doing.

I didn't say he WAS a poisonous player. I am saying if you lie to a player and tell him he is going to get 25+ a game, and then he doesn't, then you have created a poisonous player.

He had nowhere near the defensive skills to play defense at the 4 position, IMO.

I am so glad we left for the American Athletic Conference.

Sure seems like the AAC is slipping badly in basketball and that we're approaching Valley level very quickly. Conference loses another team or 2 and we'll be there.
