Butler leaves WSU; Michael injured

NORMAL, Ill. - Wichita State's already depleted roster is down two more bodies, one permanently.
Redshirt freshman Arbry Butler is transferring to an undetermined school for personal reasons, the WSU athletic department said today. Butler, a forward from Little Rock, sat out last season and former coach Mark Turgeon was trying to find him a junior college spot last spring. When Turgeon left, new coach Gregg Marshall allowed Butler to regain his academic eligibility and remain on the team. His status was unresolved most of the summer. He played in one game this season.
Freshman Bret Michael will not play tonight against Illinois State due to a strained muscle in his left thigh. Michael, a walk-on, has become WSU's backup point guard due to the absence of Matt Braeuer, who will miss his fifth game tonight with a concussion.
Tonight's game is at 7:05 p.m. on KWCH, Channel 12.
