It was better before Covid when he was always right and rubbed people’s faces in it. Now he’s always wrong and relies on being shrill to get his kicks. Hes as predictable as a bot.

Who cares about Cold? This thread is directly related to the substantial reason we are not competitive. I realize Shocker Lady (who I have good reason to believe IS NOT PB) came across as not credible, but she does raise a valid concern.

If the NCAA doesn't revise their portal rules and NIL limits I don't think our program will ever do much of anything. Still watching our guys but losing interest for the whole darn thing. Same for college football. Two sports I've followed and loved all my life shot to pieces.

Not sure how I came across as uncredible as I stand behind everything I said. Have not heard one word from ACS since last summer. In this case 'Silence is not Golden."

Armchair's Twitter account last posted on September 29th. Things have gone off the rails a little in this thread, but the original question is entirely valid.

              Where is Armchair?

I actually reached out to them a month or so ago, had a question on my monthly billing. They got back to me and issue appears to be resolved.

The question I always had: how do they, or are they, making money? I get it comes from donations, but it would take a bunch of donations to support people working there.

This article will give you an idea on the typical NIL deal in the NCAA. Most of the big hitters have MAJOR social media presences and are football stars. The typical football player at OU or Alabama makes $50-60K.

                  But it's $150K starting at Bug'aha State.

P.S. MOST schools can't just drop a couple hunny in a player's account. The player has to have some level of national notoriety to command the big bucks (100's of thousands to millions).
Football has 85 mouths to feed, basketball, 15. Schools without football have a huge advantage in the NIL game because they need a much smaller pot to feed fewer players more. Schools like Kansas that prioritize basketball over football pay their cagers more than the boys on the gridiron. Although if Leipold has his way, that will change. As for now, even though the spigot has opened a bit for the football program, Bill Self has his hand firmly on the valve.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Here's my thought and question -

Would WSU basketball be better suited with some sort of "Shocker Club" format where the donations are divided 13 (or however many players are on the roster) ways and split equally amongst the MBB team like some other schools have done? Some sort of "starting salary". Something transparent with a live tracker on the site to how much the players are receiving every month. No sort of picking and choosing or decision making, just a straight up if you want to support our men's basketball guys this is the place to do it and the pie is split evenly.

Just spitballing. Would personally support that sort of format and transparency WAY more.
Brummett throws, STRUCK HIM OUT! THE SHOCKERS ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! AN UNBELIEVABLE STORY!

It was the insurance comment that had people riled up but that is irrelevant as to the current concerns you and I have in common.

Not sure what you know specifically about Armchair that we don’t, but you were ahead of the game.

Heck yes! At least there would be transparency. The way things work now nobody has a clue what is going on. It’s way weak.

Just for kicks, other famous “wheres”:

                          1. Car 54, where are you?
                          2. Where have you gone Joe Dimaggio?
                          3. Oh Great Pumpkin, where are you?
                          4. Oh brother, where art thou?

That information came straight from CP's camp which I have in a text messages .I have refrained from posting the entire conversation due to some other topics discussed. Expecting people to send in a monthly check creates zero enthusiasm in a fan base. One has to create a buzz and get people excited and interested. We might see a fire in our players that isn't present now. It's called marketing, marketing and more marketing!

Brother, football brings in the dough, it will continue to get the lion's share of the revenue. These big paydays that are highly touted are supported by massive social media presences. Joe Nameless playing for K-Who or wherever is just happy to be there. He'll get a few bones. NOBODY at ANY school is just paying players A-Z all outrageous figures. A place like BJ paying player #6 through #13 $150K would be outrageous and totally unnecessary.

But, you will find players that aren't super good yet have a MASSIVE social media presence earning millions. And they are doing it "on their own". I also have no doubt there are quite a few guys and dolls on places like Onlyfans selling glimpses of their bits and pieces for a very pretty penny. Lots of pervs out there with money to spend. Maybe BJ has a homosexual 2nd stringer with a big schlong that loves to show it off. He could certainly be earning millions. Maybe a decent amount of it coming from the local clergy!!
