Who cares about Cold? This thread is directly related to the substantial reason we are not competitive. I realize Shocker Lady (who I have good reason to believe IS NOT PB) came across as not credible, but she does raise a valid concern.

If the NCAA doesn't revise their portal rules and NIL limits I don't think our program will ever do much of anything. Still watching our guys but losing interest for the whole darn thing. Same for college football. Two sports I've followed and loved all my life shot to pieces.

I actually reached out to them a month or so ago, had a question on my monthly billing. They got back to me and issue appears to be resolved.
The question I always had: how do they, or are they, making money? I get it comes from donations, but it would take a bunch of donations to support people working there.

This article will give you an idea on the typical NIL deal in the NCAA. Most of the big hitters have MAJOR social media presences and are football stars. The typical football player at OU or Alabama makes $50-60K.
But it's $150K starting at Bug'aha State.
P.S. MOST schools can't just drop a couple hunny in a player's account. The player has to have some level of national notoriety to command the big bucks (100's of thousands to millions). There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Here's my thought and question -
Would WSU basketball be better suited with some sort of "Shocker Club" format where the donations are divided 13 (or however many players are on the roster) ways and split equally amongst the MBB team like some other schools have done? Some sort of "starting salary". Something transparent with a live tracker on the site to how much the players are receiving every month. No sort of picking and choosing or decision making, just a straight up if you want to support our men's basketball guys this is the place to do it and the pie is split evenly.
Just spitballing. Would personally support that sort of format and transparency WAY more.Brummett throws, STRUCK HIM OUT! THE SHOCKERS ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! AN UNBELIEVABLE STORY!

Not sure what you know specifically about Armchair that we don’t, but you were ahead of the game.

As for now, even though the spigot has opened a bit for the football program, Bill Self has his hand firmly on the valve.
But, you will find players that aren't super good yet have a MASSIVE social media presence earning millions. And they are doing it "on their own". I also have no doubt there are quite a few guys and dolls on places like Onlyfans selling glimpses of their bits and pieces for a very pretty penny. Lots of pervs out there with money to spend. Maybe BJ has a homosexual 2nd stringer with a big schlong that loves to show it off. He could certainly be earning millions. Maybe a decent amount of it coming from the local clergy!!
