He and Saal will have a really good conversation and Mills will completely understand that this is not the direction WSU basketball needs to go.

I'm just not sure what can really be done at this point. Mills knows this isn't acceptable. I'm presuming he's trying his best.

The only thing that can realistically be done is for there to be a mandatory gutting of a lot of the assistant ranks. The same thing happens to pro teams all the time. It may not even be the assistants' fault. Heads just got to roll.

Not from what I saw. Yes, they missed a lot of 3s but those that they missed were wide open shots. They just weren't making them. Luck, not defense.

I did see a lot more hustle on defense. The team clearly looked like they really wanted it.

But to know that:

1. The University of North Texas, an afterthought in the state and pretty much the region of north Texas;
2. A team with an NIL budget that's presumably much smaller than WSU's;
3. A team that has a second year head coach who's getting paid much less than Mills; and
4. A team that had to replace the majority of its players this past offseason; yet is
5. A team that finds itself tied on top of the AAC standings at 7-1, and is
6. A team that beat WSU at WSU's home.

Just drives home how bad Mills is.
