Great idea. Its's nice that they are tying something interesting and exciting.
Glad they are bringing in someone youthful and engaging, rather than try to revive the corpse of Tony Bennett to play for the blue-hairs!*
* = No disrespect to either Tony (or the blue-hairs), but you know what I mean. Maybe Tech N9ne can do a remix of "Rags to Riches" to brigade the generational gap!The Assman

It would be a great chance to have all the other sports be represented, signing autographs, mingling with the fans, inviting fans to their games, etc. Maybe have some fun games related to the sports. Pitching with a radar gun and chipping practice golf balls spring to mind as easy ones. Kind of a sports carnival type of thing. Just a rando thought!

If that's representative of his overall body of work, I can see it being fun for the younger generations and can even image pogo tapping his feet to it.Tina Fey, Jimmy Fallon, Horatio Sanz as Kid Shazaam, musical guest Eminem, Jerry Minor as Grand Master Rap during 'Weekend Update' on October 7, 2000

There's actually a better skit, but I couldn't find it probably due to the fact I can only remember it vaguely. It could have been SNL or perhaps In Living Color (how brilliant was that show?). It was a couple of "old" rappers lamenting how nobody "today" was rapping about getting good grades, or going to bed on time or wearing clean underwear. If I had to guess, the skit is 25-35 years ago.
Wherever that skit exists, you sir were brilliant.

I'm not a huge Tech N9ne fan, but he's had significant hits over the last decade and a half. He also has a pretty large fanbase in the area as he's from KC, so I figure that alone will pump up the attendance a considerable amount.
If there is one video to introduce people to his music, I'd suggest the NPR Tiny Desk Concert:

And that's okay. Hopefully they pull in a significant number of students and younger fans.Last edited by 1972Shocker; October 1, 2023, 03:46 PM.
