When Creighton ran out to the 12 point lead I thought the game was over.
When about 10 people around me left with about 3:30 left, it really kind pissed me off for a couple of reasons.
1. The guys were fighting back at that point and
2. They walked in front of me right in the middle of the action. You would think if you are going to be a non-fan you could at least wait for a break in the action. I did make sure to yell a Go Shocks right in the ear of each one of them as the filed out in front of me.
I thought were going to do it when Mantas hit the 3 bomb. I was waiting all night for him to step up.
Then Gal drove to the basket and made a perfect kick-out to Dotzler for the break away lay-up -- -- wrong team.
Gal so desperately wants to be the hero that I think he is trying too hard to make plays at the end of the game.
I doubt we got the shot we wanted at the end of the game. P.J. certainly did not seem pleased at all as he slammed the ball of the backboard from the top of the key.
Regarding Coach Marhall's demeanor I don't think he is looking for pity. I think the guy genuinely dislikes losing so much that he is just not going to be very upbeat anytime we lose, regardless of the ammunition he has been left with.
Creighton is the best looking MVC team I have seen this year. Very difficult to guard because they only have about 10 guys capable of shooting the three ball.
All-In-All a nice bounce back from the stinky effort delivered at MSU, but Creighton was just a little too good for us last night.

I know Gal is only a sophomore. I honestly think though he has regressed somewhat from last year to this year. Sure he's scoring more, but I also think he's forcing more. I just think Gal has a nice ability to dish off and pass and is not using that skill well enough.
Graham Hatch is a freshman and I can honestly say I'd feel more comfortable with him at the point than Gal at this time.Deuces Valley.

Gal Stepped up last night.... because no one else did at the end of that game.
PJ had the ball many times and he passed it off.
PJ could have taken a shot he didnt.
Why dont we blame PJ he is a senior?
Why do you hate gal so much.
Gal played an amazing game last night. Our whole team did.
At the end of a game like that PJ should be shooting he had the ball, He didnt shoot it.
Get over it.
Gal is also shooting 40 percent higher from the FT line than PJ....
What more do you want.
Maybe if he plays a perfect game and no turnovers shoots 100 percent You will be happy?
This isnt space jam buddy.
We have one win in the valley this year.
Gal Mekel was the player of the game.
He made huge freethrows down the stretch.
Yet somehow you think hes nothing but a David King.
If you were the coach of our team, wed have no wins.
I want all of our players to play well.
People make mistakes.
PJ was shooting 78 percent from FT land his sophomore year....
look at it now?
Phil has awful hands.
We stick with him.
Graham is a good shooter but obviously a nervous wreck with the ball, but he should be our PG!!!!!!!???????"Coach Marshall,We will be at Creighton at least 15 hours in advance!"
CGM--->"Hell yea, and we'll beat their ass."

Shockfever = troll
I answered your "hidden" turnovers with the obvious observation that he had just as many assist ripped away by players who refuse to shoot open shots. You still continue to only recognize your viewpoint.
You say he tries to be the guy, but I point out the previous shot clock situations where he made the early pass. Beyond that, the screener came to Gal on that last turnover which means the play was designed for Gal to drive and make the best of it. I also pointed out that the original play on that possession worked, but Phil did not make the open pass. This forced the shockers to reset to Gal. Once again on your following posts you go right back to your original statement. Either you do not get sports/basketball or you cannot read anything other then RipEmUpShox responses.
I do not want Gal to throw the ball to the other team at the end of the game and it was clearly a game changing decision. My problem is with your inability to recognize game situations, total team make-up/performance, and the fact this game was lost much earlier.
Other thoughts:
GM missed two opportunities in the last five minutes (dead ball situations) to bring offense in for defense. Both times the shockers did not get a good look and did not come close to scoring.
The technicals called and not called had an impact. The first would have giving the shockers a chance at a two point lead with the ball. The second technical followed a call that took points of the board for the shockers and resulted in four CU points for a six point swing. That was huge in a game that was a one possession affair for the entire half. With this said, I can only be sure that the non-call was wrong....
WP has to shoot open shots and hope for the best... The drives to the basket are allowing the defenders to rotate and draw the charge or force a really bad attempt. With guys like Ramon and Phil we have to hope for a rebound on the longer range shots if he misses.
Hatch has a quicker release than I originally thought... it was a shame that he bobbled the ball on his best chance in the game. Although shockfever thinks he is the best point guard on the team (hard to ignore his player evaluation) he cannot stay in front of small forwards - I could only imagine him attempting to stay in front of point guards... I hope KR has some training solutions that allow him to become an adequate defender.
Over the last few weeks Durley has become the most frustrating player on this team. His refusal to figure out how to play defense and box-out is killing this team. He needs minutes to help on the offensive end, but he keeps GM's hands tied with his effort.

Wow. Where do I begin?
Why can't you just acknowledge that Gal isn't perfect? Why can't Gal be blamed or a loss, but PJ can?
Answer those for me.

Yep. I said he's 'nothing but a David King'. Wow, you're beyond retarded. Go ahead and make up something else to prove your incoherent points.

According to Shockerfever, every game we lose its going to automatically be Gal's fault. I have never seen him blame anybody else but Gal. I seriously think he has a hatred toward Gal and he root for him to fail. Gal is not a perfect player by no means, But he is a good player that should be on the court.Follow me on twitter: https://twitter.com/Shox_KCfan

Yep.. I blamed the MSU loss on Gal. I blamed the ISU loss on Gal. I blamed this loss on Gal... lol.
Forgive me for pointing out negatives on a particular player. I forgot that by doing that, that automatically means I'm 'blaming him for the loss'. Just stfu already. It's seriously getting sad.
Ya.. I root for Gal to fail.. that's exactlyyyy it.
Answer me these questions ripemupshox:
Why can't Gal do anything wrong?
Why when Gal drives into the lane and throws the ball directly into a BJ's hands for an easy layup is that not his fault?
Why do you constantly get butthurt for anyone not calling Gal a god?
When will you and Gal announce your engagement?
Will you pass the 8th grade exit exams sometime this decade?Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

Shockfever - the troll reference was sarcasm. I forgot to add the question mark at the end, but go ahead and dig... The sarcasm was used because I can't tell anymore if you are trying to be honest on this board or just stirring crap up. I think you are giving an honest assessment, but when people make counter arguments (not just mine) and you ignore them it makes me think I am wrong.
I am just not sure this team has enough all around talent or the right puzzle pieces to blame any player/coach for these losses.

My point if you would read and get past your own pride about blaming gal for everything.
is that Noone else was shooting.
Matt is out, PJ wont shoot it, Graham guarded heavily down 3 what do you want us to do.
First of all that turnover is erased because they missed the front end of a 1 and 1 after it.
SO just get over it.
I blame our loss on the teams effort not Gals.
Not PJs.
everyones.
Unlike you i can see the flaws in all of our players including gal.
Its not like i think hes perfect.
I just think hes not as bad as you make him out to be.
Some of the things you just wrote i dont even wanna answer its just worthless bickering."Coach Marshall,We will be at Creighton at least 15 hours in advance!"
