The T was BS. The call before that was even worse. If you're gonna make a bad call you don't then T up the coach. And considering he dished out the T with his back to him, and Marshall had walked away, makes me think this guy was too thin skinned to be doing D1 basketball. I wasn't a big fan of this crew anyway. They weren't totally brutal but there were 4 or 5 other calls that just made me scratch my head and think WTH?

Gal played well up until he pulled a Gal and left his feet on the baseline with nowhere to go. That killed us.

PJ played well. He needs to do this every game. I don't know why he doesn't.

    Hatch can shoot.

    We still miss Matt.

Nice to see Griz step up and hit a big three with the pressure on him.

Phil and Ramon played fairly well too.

This team showed a lot of heart tonight but left the infected cock holes from Bugaha get too many open looks from 3.

Heres a couple thoughts of mine about the game. The refs for a 5 minutes stretch was horrible and because of that in a way it cost us the game. All of sudden Creighton is up by 12. Another thoughts is i know PJ played a great game and all, but if he wants to be the go to guy and the star player he needs to be the one to take the last second shot. And also one concern i have is why does Phil go for the pump fake and leave his feet. He has done that about 6 or 7 times the last couple games. I thought we played with a lot of heart. Coach will get it figured out and the future is bright. GO SHOX!

When they got down 10 soon after the T I thought it was over, great effort to tie it back up.

Too bad they couldn't make free throws all game long, that could've been the difference.

*Also had flashbacks to the valentine's day game. The fact that Gal's shot wasn't close is kind of a reminder of how things haven't been going our way lately.

Anyone know what happened when PJ was tied up on the floor after the Jays missed and got called for the 24 sec violation? The way the ref pulled PJ off was odd.

A lot of people have said things I totally agree with here, including about the questionable officiating.

I was the most disappointed with our ball handling and execution particularly at the end of the game. It seems like they just aren't 'getting' what coach has drawn up for them (not that I know what that was) because they looked a little disorganized from my amateur perspective.

With that said, I really enjoyed the team's effort. They played hard and while execution wasn't always the best, they played pretty inspired (after all, it is Creighton). I loved how they didn't let the game get away from them after the technical foul and all that BS that happened.

There was a player on the bench (I couldn't see who it was--too far away) but he was trying to get his team mates and the crowd pumped right in the midst of all that chaotic stretch we had--it showed a lot to me. It showed a fire that we definately lacked at MO State.

I remember coach saying something on Wednesday about this team being great to coach but just not getting 'fired up' enough or something along those lines. Well, I saw a lot more in that direction tonight.

Creighton played well, and as much as we HATE to lose to them, we played them tough.

Go Shox. Let's shoot the ball at least as well as we did tonight and get revenge on the Redbirds. If I recall correctly if we had shot even as mediocre-leveled as we did tonight, we would've won the first meeting.

I don't know, WSU was 18-26 from the line, I believe Kennedy said they were also 8-10 down the stretch. That's not that shabby.

But when you lose by 3 you can point to anything for the loss. I could point to about 10 different instances.

Just got done watching the game..

Wow. We could've had this one. Our 7 minute stretch without a field goal midway through the second half pretty much settled it. Our FT shooting was shaky at the end too.

Is it just me or is Gal trying to do too much? I think he forced way too many difficult shots. He had 3 TO's, but you might as well give him 6 or 7 TO's for how many wild, crazy, contested, and pretty selfish shots he took at times. I really can't ever feel comfortable watching him with the b-ball. That TO in the final minute hurt mightily. WTH was he doing? 3-9 shooting didn't help either. He plays much better as a passer and a shooter when in the flow than anything else. I'm sorry to nitpick on Gal, but he made a few critical errors at costly times that sure didn't help with our cause.

PJ stepped up and was a warrior. Graham Hatch continues to impress me. Anyone thinking he isn't worthy over Gal or Wendell is blind. Ramon was nice on the glass.

Really, really frustrating to watch. We forced so many TO's on them. This was a winnable game for sure. Un-effing-believable. Well, looks like we'll be on a nice 4 game losing streak heading into our next home game.

Will we ever win a conference game at home?

Sooo frustrating. Can't wait til next year!

You just can't help yourself can you. I think gal does force things sometimes to much but it seems to me like its usually because our guys are standing around and hes left without much option and someone has to find a shot. I personally dont think hatch or preadom would be better at point. In regards to ramon being nice on the glass I think he had like 2 rebounds. He had a tough night mixing it up with watts who had him by a few inches not to mention he is a senior and is pretty savvy when it comes to the fundamentals like positioning. We were outrebounded by 10 in the first half and thats not normal. The second foul on ramon in the first half was lame but I think the refs felt like thy had to call something because the fouls were 7-1 at that point. It was as ticky tacky as they get and its a shame they couldnt have dished it out to someone else besides ramon.

Yes I can help myself. It's an honest opinion a lot of Shocker fans probably feeling too. Other players made mistakes too... it's just Gal has poor timing with his.

I see movement and guys asking for the ball in our offense. On a few fastbreaks we had, Gal either couldn't run up down the floor fast enough to execute a pass off or he forced a .05% shot up against 3 defenders... basically a turnover. I guess I'm the only one that sees this. Silly me once again for calling it out.

Hatch handles the ball pretty well. He lacks some of the better passing skills Gal has, but he makes up for it in overall ball handling, shot selection, and decision making IMO. He was 3 for 3 behind the arc on shots within the offense. He gets the slight nod IMO. Preadom and Gal is a draw. Well, ok.. Gal gets the edge in that one.

                      • I saw at least 2, two steps and a hop tonight from Creghton.

Fast breaking down court and the ball goes to Creighton, saying Gal touched it. It happened right in front of me, Gal did not touch the ball. He turned around to the coach, and mouthed, "I did not touch the ball", and shrugged his shoulders.

I did not see what Preadom did to foul right before the T thing went on.

Durley needs to keep track of his man on Defense, as does Hatch.

Does anyone have the shooting percentages for the game? Seems like Creighton was able to finish shots even when off balance, or hand in the face, or in traffic.

I really dont think any of us think u can help yourself at this point man.

Heres what it came down to. Gal took the last shot. PJ our senior leading scorer had the ball and he could have taken a shot with like 7 seconds left and passed it to Gal. Everyone else including hatch was very heavily defended.

                          So blame PJ man.
Wait we could just say that THE TEAM didnt play good enough.

                          • The team didn't play good enough. Members of our team, including Infallible Gal, didn't play good enough.

What did you think about that play with about 40 seconds left with Gal driving frantically into the lane and then passing to a CU player for an easy layup? I thought it was awesome.

                            • I have no problem with how we played tonight. Sure we made mistakes and, sure, we could have made a few more shots.

I thought CU was great, offensively, for most of the game and that is going to be pretty much a death sentence for this team they way we shoot the ball.

Gal had 7 assists and 3 turnovers. 2+ to 1 assist to turnover ratio is about as good as it gets folks and in case anyone forgets, he is just a sophmore.

                              • Shockfever - Gal forced one fast break... call it a turn-over if you would like...

There were at least four assists lost due to guys like WP, Phil, PJ not taking the wide open shot Gal got them.. At the end of the day it was probably a wash.

Also, there were about 5 shot clock violations last night. On many of them he made a pass to PJ or some other shocker with 5 seconds left attempting to let other guys make the play; yet, somehow you think he is trying to do too much. Get over the mistakes. PG for this team has to be one of the hardest positions in college basketball this year. They were not setting the world on fire with Matt and he was probably having the perfect senior year.

Finally note, Phil missed a pass to Mantas which would have been a dunk before Gal got the ball with 13 seconds left on the clock. If the pass is made we are not talking about Gal. Which is why playing PG would be so hard, this team has so much trouble scoring in so many ways that by nature more of the heavy lifting (forcing) falls on it. Gal ran off the screen hard hoping to get to the hoop or to have another player coming hard down the lane if the help came. The help came and the cutter was hesitant. The mistake was forcing the pass.
