I'm finally starting to read SDSU as South Dakota State, instead of San Diego State. Then I remember that I have heard of South Dakota State. I thihnk they're trying to get into the MVC.

Will there be enough butt in seats to pay the rent for the facility?

For Oklahoma State last year, the sales were so bad they had to block off the upper ends.

I think every coach should be able to run the program how they see fit, but it sure was nice having a marquee opponent most years at iba.

we’ve fallen and it’s going to be hard to capture fan momentum again without a significant catalyst (big signing, string of consecutive wins, tournament run). college athletics has changed.. and the casual observer in myself notices that even the historical $hit schools in american football are now paying attention (duke, unc, kentucky).. even if the shift in resources hurts their basketball team for a short time.

I'm not sure Coach Mills had anything to do with scheduling this year's came. I would be surprised if he did. Maybe others can answer that question.

He joked about this year’s schedule when he spoke at the downtown Rotary Club.

Said conversation went something like this when talking with ADKS about the upcoming schedule, shortly after coming on board as the new HC.

ADKS: “We’ve got some good opponents on the schedule @ Mizzou, @ KSU, @ KU…”
HCPM: “Thank you, but we’ll take it from here!”

Coach and ADKS realize the importance of a good non-conference schedule in terms of both fan interest and for the benefit of the team/program as well. I expect the schedule to progressively get better over the next few seasons.
