    Regular Season (Games of Interest):
    2005 – Beat Western Kentucky in Wichita 85-81. National Invitational Tournament. J Jamar Howard scored 22 points and Paul Miller added 18 to lift Wichita State to an 84-81 victory over Western Kentucky in the first round of the NIT. Howard was 7-of-11 from the field and 8-of-15 from the line overall and scored 15 of his points in the second half. Miller made 9-of-14 shots for the Shockers (23-9), who advance to face Vanderbilt in Nashville on Monday. Wichita State trailed, 65-62, when Howard started a 7-0 run with two free throws at the 9:03 mark. Matt Braeuer gave the Shockers the lead for good with a layup 27-seconds later and Randy Burns capped the burst with a 3-pointer with 7:57 left. Western Kentucky cut the deficit to one on three occasions, twice on baskets from Anthony Winchester, but could not regain the lead. Burns made four free throws in the final 26 seconds to seal the win. He scored 12 points - all in the second half - and P.J. Couisnard added 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Shockers.
