  • New Beginnings

Kevin Saal From the beginning of his time at WSU I have been impressed by his work ethic and his effort to reach out to many segments of Alumni. He has been proactive in several projects such as the proposed Softball Complex and finally beginning the demo of Cessna Stadium. Now, he has shown that he is not afraid to make a quick decision on a programs leadership/direction. I believe that he has weighed the benefit/financial side of such a move vs maintaining the status quo. I am confident he has some assurances that such a move is in the best interests of WSU Athletics. What those assurances are I have no clue but ADKS does not seem to be a man to make any move without a clear plan for the future.

President Muma Thought I would throw my couple of cents in our relatively NEW President. To me he has shown that he is indeed the person to continue Dr Bardo's dream of the future for WSU. Building continues and research grants are still finding their way to WSU the most recent a 100 million dollar grant from the Army. Enrollment continues to increase at what seems to be the fastest pace in the State with students from all 50 states and over a hundred foreign countries. Some if not all wondered if he would be able or willing to fire our former AD and he has shown he was capable and willing to make that decision and hire his replacement.

I feel good about the direction of the Academic and Athletic entities under these men's leadership. There will always be challenges and bumps along the way but I believe we have leaders of character and integrity to lead the way for OUR University.

Still haven't forgotten how Muma handled the Marshall situation and the Boatright extension, but he is trying to make me forgive him with his other accomplishments.

If the next hire is a home run, thay will be one more feather in the cap and might help completely turn the page towards the future.

Muma needs to get Ross McBurney's jersey hung in the rafters. Then we can review other accomplishments.

Wasn’t that Golden rather than Muma?

President Golden oversaw the Marshall investigation and granted the Boatright extension. Muma fired Boatright.

As I understand it, Golden worked the deal with Boatright that extended him and gave him the big raise. That sealed Marshall's fate because either Boatright or Marshall was going to take the fall. When Golden "resigned", Muma became the interim and that was his position at the effective date of the deal Golden had made with Boatright.

Muma probably could have reneged on the deal, but he hadn't been the interim very long and probably wasn't expecting to become the permanent President.

I get he might not have started the talks with DB or been the one to start the GM investigation, but he ultimately pulled the trigger on both decisions.

He was in a tough situation with the timing of everything. Maybe he regrets both decisions, who knows.

He has done way more good than bad up to this point.

As an interim president, I'm guessing there were other hands involved in the process. He's done very well since becoming officially president

I think you should be looking at the school's attorney(s) on this one.

Like I said, he's done a lot of great work since those decisions have gone down. Perhaps, I am wrong in thinking Muma could have done anything other than sign off on those decisions, but heavy is the head the wears the crown.

I hope he continues the trajectory he appears to be on.

Golden showers on patty’s beamers. Muma was doing his best to keep the plane in the air. All of this is on boatboob, golden, patty Beamer, and Craig Stevenson.
