From a conceptual standpoint, our NIL goes 99% to basketball. KSU and UT will direct 90%+ to football most likely, so even if they have larger overall collectives, we theoretically should have more to spend on MBB which is a much smaller number of players.
Edit:
This is the quote from the KSU 247 guy.
After believing it was down to just K-State and Texas for Max Abmas, I'm told Wichita State is back in the picture once again.
In all honesty, this recruitment might come down to how much the Oral Roberts transfer values a NIL package. The Shockers have money that K-State perhaps can't match and that Texas perhaps won't match. Add in the fact that his former head coach Paul Mills just got a job at WSU, I think it's safe to say a reunion for Abmas can't be ruled out of the equation.
All that being said, there is some good news with Abmas.
There's word on the street of a meeting between the K-State staff and Abmas for 'one final pitch'. Obviously, this can only help the Cats but it shows that there's still some work to do.
More bad news though — I'm hearing Abmas has a visit lined up with Wichita State within the next few days.
After believing it was a coin flip between the Wildcats and Longhorns, it seems to be a one-third shot right now with Abmas.
