2017 – (#21) WSU Won vs. Missouri State in St. Louis, Mo. 78-63. MVC Tournament (St. Louis, Mo./Scottrade Center). Conner Frankamp equaled his career high with 18 points, including a career-best six 3-pointers, and Markis McDuffie added 15 points as the second-seeded Shockers (29-4) advanced to the MVC championship game for the fourth time in eight seasons. They'll play top-seeded Illinois State on Sunday, the first title game appearance for Wichita State since winning the tournament in 2014. Sixth-seeded Missouri State (17-16), which upset No. 3 seed Northern Iowa in the quarterfinals, got 20 points from Jarred Dixon and 16 from Alize Johnson, who also had seven rebounds and a career-high seven assists. "Give Wichita State a lot of credit," Missouri State coach Paul Lusk said. "I thought we came out and were excellent. Obviously if you punch them they are going to punch back and they punched us back. ... Realistically in the second half you've got to make shots to stay with them. We missed a lot of good looks. And they wear you down." Wichita State beat Missouri State by 19 points a week earlier and has won 15 straight meetings with the Bears. Missouri State last beat Wichita State in 2011.

Ron Baker hit 5-3-pointers and scored 25 points and league champion Wichita State used a late 11-0 run to rally for an a 66-58 win over eighth-seeded Loyola Chicago in the quarterfinals of the Missouri Valley tournament on Thursday. The Shockers (24-7), who have won six straight, face fourth-seeded Northern Iowa in Saturday's semifinals. The Ramblers (15-17), who trailed 30-21 at the half against a team that beat them by 26 and 22 during the regular season, were up 52-45 before a 3 by Baker started a game-winning 17-3 run. Baker's 3 at 1:54 put Wichita State up 57-55. Fred VanVleet then made 5 of 6 free throws for a seven-point lead.
2011 – Won vs. Bradley in St. Louis, Mo. 70-56. MVC Tournament (St. Louis, Mo./Scottrade Center). Garrett Stutz scored 16 points, leading Wichita State to a 70-56 victory over Bradley in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament quarterfinals Friday. No. 2-seeded Wichita State (24-7) opened the second half with a 12-4 run to go up 47-26 and cruised to its third victory this season over the Braves (12-20). Stutz, a 7-foot sophomore, hit 5 of 7 from the floor and 5 of 6 from the free throw line. The Shockers' Joe Ragland added 11 points. Wichita State finished the first half by outscoring the Braves 9-0 in the final 3:26. Stutz started the run with a jumper and a long 3-pointer. A fast-break layup by Ragland followed, and then Gabe Paul converted a layup just before the buzzer for a 35-22 halftime lead.
