  • Today in Shockers Sports History: January 23rd

For the day, the Shockers are:
    7 and 13

    Regular Season (Games of Interest):
2016 – (#RV) WSU beat Bradley in Wichita 88-54. Fred VanVleet had 13 points and added four assists and four steals to help lead Wichita State to its ninth straight win, a dominating 88-54 victory over Bradley on Saturday. The Shockers made 30 of 61 shots from the floor while limiting Bradley to 44 percent shooting. The Braves made only 18 field goals while committing 20 turnovers. The Shockers had a 25-12 run to finish out the first half and took a 44-21 lead into the break. They charged out to take a 65-29 lead in the second half and coasted to the win. Ron Baker had 12 points and Markis McDuffie and Shaquille Morris added 10 apiece for Wichita State (14-5, 8-0 Missouri Valley), which sits alone atop the conference standings.

2013 – (#20) WSU won at Missouri State in Springfield, Mo. 62-52. So much for assuming this was supposed to be a rebuilding year for Wichita State. Cleanthony Early had 17 points and 11 rebounds, Carl Hall added 15 points and the 20th-ranked Shockers rallied for a 62-52 victory over Missouri State on Wednesday night. The Shockers won again without two injured starters, Ron Baker (foot) and Evan Wessel (hand). It was Hall's third game back since he missed seven games because of a broken thumb on his shooting hand.

    1985 – Beat Creighton in Wichita 82-81

    1953 – Beat (#17) Oklahoma City in Wichita 66-62

    1951 – Beat Creighton in Wichita 75-62
