I honestly don't get the dislike for Cle. Kid gave his all and was entertaining and one of the most talented players of the Marshall era.

I think a lot of us love him; he was awesome. But he wasn't exactly representing WSU well from a sportsmanship or attitude perspective when he played for the AfterShocks.

I think a lot of us love him; he was awesome. But he wasn't exactly representing WSU well from a sportsmanship or attitude perspective when he played for the AfterShocks.

Cle was a Top Tier talent who required a Top Tier Coach with a strong personality to manage him. He required an SOB Coach to come down on him at times, and a coach who knew to give him freedom to make great plays and yes, mistakes occasionally. They grew to usually be on the same page.

I doubt that our present head coach can pull this off, and last year, certain players seemed to be in charge and didn’t listen to coaches.

In the TBT, our young, nice coaches were also out of their league to handle players like Cle. Last year, our TBT coaches who didn’t have anyone playing for them who was like Cle didn’t always handle the stronger personalities but it was better than the first TBT team.

This 100%!! I haven't heard anyone state specifics about what Cle did that was so egregious during the TBT. He played to the crowd and played like he was playing in a professional basketball tournament, which is what it is.

My memory was that the selfish bug hit him, and that the team didn't jell around him very well, thus the Aftershocks weren't very good. Last year, we played more as a team, and had a little success. If the goal of participating in the professional TBT is for us to lose, and "suck" doing it, then I won't spend any money on it either.

Lol. Pretty sure that not the goal. Yes, Cle was a bit of a ball hog and played zero D. It was good to have him in CKA again in front of Shocker fans, but he was frustrating to watch. Guessing that's why they didn't have him back last year.

I'm a big Cle fan, but I do remember when he was driving into the lane and he was fouled he basically threw a punch when he flailed, and I remember thinking "holy ****, please don't start a fight and embarrass us". Outside of that incident, I don't remember anything else, but that one thing stuck with me.

I loved college Cle! But TBT Cle was like in the Dark Crystal when the Skeksis sucked the life essence out of the Gelflings.
