If the 'revolving door' continues at the current pace, we'll quickly surpass the 90's...

    • Not enough Evan Wessel’s in college basketball and too many showboats. You are 100% correct Doc as usual!

A video of Tekele's great dunks, including how he reacted to them, should be played on a 24-hour loop in the locker room and weight room. Heck, play it on every TV in every athletic facility.

If you appreciate good basketball, and we should all appreciate it because we aren't seeing it from the Shox, you would appreciate that kids game.
I’m not into good basketball unless it’s local (high school and college). I’ve always loved Shocker basketball, and occasionally that meant a 4* or 5* recruit. But that wasn’t often. Either way, we often were a Top 50 team. That doesn’t seem to be the current trend.

I hope you can be the new Sugar Daddy that contributes to Shocker basketball, because most of the past big time donors did it because of their caring about our Wichita community.

            • When a kid celebrates a half court shot on a buzzer beater, he does it because it is out of his norm, thus special.
When a kid celebrates a 20-25 ft shot made or a dunk or a block, well.........same thing.

If you do those things all the time, ahh no biggie.

This is so true. If players have a coach they respect, that is making them better, and a program and culture they respect, they will not be leaving. They will want to stay.
To seal the deal, as unpalatable as it is to some, we have to step up and pay the going rate or close to it for that players talent. There is no reason we can't do this.

When these things are in place, I am actually optimistic about our future. We can absolutely be a relevant team every year. I will go so far as to say that Wichita State has never had this good of opportunity to play on a level playing field with power whatever programs.

The massive player defections happened several years before IB became the coach. Are you saying that players under FMHCGGG did not respect him, did not expect he would make them better, and didn't respect the program and the culture under GGG?

The number of players transferring in Marshall's later years were among the highest in D1. That's what got *******'s attention and why, when TP went looking for confirmation of what he thought was mistreatment, he found it and reported it to *******. If WSU hadn't been a significant program with high transfers out, ******* would not have had interest in what was happening here. TP's complaints would have fallen on deaf ears.

From the settlement in GGG's departure it appears that both GGG and WSU accepted 50% of the blame for his leaving the program. That indicates that the investigation found that Marshall abused players and that WSU allowed it. Otherwise lawyers for either side would have negotiated a different settlement.

The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Respectfully - you are drawing a lot of conclusions that may or may not be true. GGG showed a lot of people the door over the years. He was always trying to upgrade. We didn't lose too many top players like we did last season. I don't know if that would have happened if GGG was still the coach or the new transfer rulles will cause mass defections no matter what

As far as the settlement - it could have been in GGG best interst to not start a war with WSU if he ever wanted to coach again.

I believe GGG was a really tough coach. Not every player can take a coach like that. The ones that could ended up being the best they were capable of.

                      • There are a lot of people (some on here) that know things that were never reported and will never be put out there in public, WSU and 3G would not have settled like they did if there was not major liability on both sides.

Then why not share the information?
