Saw this on Twitter - https://twitter.com/ColinDeaverTV/st...06923096031232 - looks like people bring up Heiar's association with Marshall and Will Wade

Also, New Mexico State just hired former WSU women's basketball coach Jody Adams (Jody Adams-Birch) as their head women's basketball coach (https://nmstatesports.com/news/2022/...all-coach.aspx). Cheney native, Jerry Kill, is their new football head coach.

NMSU has more love and respect for WSU success than WSU has for itself!

What did the second part of the tweet say?

NMSU AD Mario Moccia was the AD at SIU from 2006 to 2014. I think he pretty up-close and personal knowledge of these former WSU coaches and knows what he is getting.

I am glad to see Jody Adams get a second chance. I suspect AD Moccia made it very clear to Jody before offering her the job that Dana Eikenberg is to kept as far away from the NMSU's women's basketball as possible. I think Jody's hiring of Eikenberg as an assistant at Wichita State is what did her in. I assume she has learned that lesson.

NMSU AD Mario Moccia said they checked with the NCAA on Heiar and there were no red flags in that regard that would have made him a no-go as a hire. Heiar also spoke off camera about learning in some instances “what not to do” as a head coach. 2/2

I had forgot GH had a DUI charge way back when. Totally irrelevant other than a saw it in one of the comments of the tweet.

It's funny, in a bi-polar sad clown kind of way, what you are allowed and not allowed to be rehabbed from into today's world.

Moccia probably knew Adams and Kill at SIU his first year or two there. Adams was there from 2004-2007 and Kill from 2001-2007. Jans was at Illinois State from 2004-2007, so between that and Jans time at WSU, he probably got to see him on a regular basis at MVC games.
