Was it Garrett’s Freshman year he hit the 3 to win against LSU in Bossier?

LAST MEETING: January 1, 2020 in Wichita (WSU, 75-69)
            GAME RECAP:

An all-around effort from The Process helped No. 24/23 Wichita State outlast East Carolina, 75-69, in a New Year's Day matinee at Charles Koch Arena.

The Process posted team-highs across the board for the Shockers (12-1, 1-0 American), finishing with 17 points, nine rebounds, five assists, five steals and a block.

Wichita State won its sixth-straight game and extended its home winning streak to 12 games.

Jamarius Burton added 15 points and Trey Wade and Tyson Etienne finished with 11 points and six rebounds apiece.

Jayden Gardner, the conference's leading scorer, put up 20 of his game-high 29 points in the second half to lead ECU (6-8, 0-1 American), which had won four-in-a-row coming in.

ECU shot 49.2 percent – best by a Shocker opponent this year -- and became only the second opposing team to out-rebound them, winning the battle of the boards 36-33.

Wichita State connected on 43.9 percent from the floor, including 9-of-27 from distance, but struggled from the foul line. The Shockers attempted 20 more free throws than ECU but hit just 16-of-29 (.552).

Helped by 12 steals, the Shockers finished plus-six in takeaways (17-11) and outscored the Pirates 13-6 off turnovers.

The Shockers led for 39 minutes but never comfortably. They scored the game's first nine points but struggled to sustain any momentum.

Down 37-30 at halftime, ECU rallied to take its only lead, 45-44, with 12:46 to go.

The Process helped turn the tide with a three-pointer and a free throw that keyed a 6-0 Shocker run. He scored 10 of his 17 points over the last 10 minutes of the game.

Etienne, who entered the week ranked 15th nationally in three-point percentage, missed six of his first seven attempts to start the day but hit back-to-back in a span of less than 40 seconds during another 8-0 spurt. Wade's dunk made it 65-54 with 6:38 to play.

Gardner took over for ECU over the next five minutes, pulling the Pirates to within three with under a minute to play.

Morris Udeze (nine points and four rebounds) made two key defensive plays on consecutive possession, blocking a shot and then stealing an entry pass. Two trips later, The Process added a steal of his own. The Shockers sank five free throws over the final 41 seconds to seal the win.
Thank you for taking the time to type in THE PROCESS.....made my day...

Having said that....and i Hate to admit it...he appears to have matured some....

            His dad? No clue....

              Here's my prediction:
Shocks win, but it does not matter to the 10 regulars on here...it won't be the correct score/way/lineup/ 'why haven't they done this sooner'?/etc
              FIRE IB!!
              FIRE BOATRIGHT!!

Are you happy about WSU finishing 7th* with a 6-9* record, assuming we win today?

                * if we wouldn’t have cancelled for covid we would finish 7-11 or 6-12 and likely 9th or 10th.

Not sure what you mean by "10 regulars", but there is probably already 15 or so in the first 23 posts here. Some of us post everywhere on the forum, so "post totals" look a lot bigger than those who primarily only post in the men's basketball forum. Some of us also have a long history of financial dedication to the program(s). I'm always open to ideas or potential solutions. Personally, however, I feel my level of investment in time and money should allow me to seek solutions or just vent.

I really think WSU athletics is most likely "stuck in a rut" for the next several years. I will still follow and hope for the best, but with the shenanigans that have gone on, WSU deserves my "wrath" more than my "money" and so be it.

Goodness, no....been a mess of a season in many ways...BUT not every single moment is bad, or worthy of disdain...I go back to moments that have been good and productive, and there always seems to be 'yeah, BUT....not every game is 'sky is falling' worthy...

To Sub, and others who have have commented on Kenny's playing time. - This situation happened way back, in the late 1950's. WU had a very fine 6'5" forward who was the best player on the team. And it seemed like every time he got on a hot shooting streak, Coach Ralph Miller pulled him out. Many fans, including myself, bad mouthed Coach Miller for doing so, just like some are doing to Coach Brown today.

It was some time after Coach Miller passed that the following information was released Turns out the young man had a significant stress problem, and if it was allowed to go to far, it became very serious.

And that was why his playing time was limited.

And Coach Miller took the heat, and neither he nor his staff ever released this information.

I am not saying by any means that this is the same situation today. And I am certainly not suggesting at all that Kenny has any medical or physical problems whatsoever.

Just saying, before you jump to conclusions that any coach, whose job depends on winning, just may have a very damn good valid reason for not doing something that seems so reasonable to you.

I can tell you, I wish I had done so. Upon learning that Coach Miller was such a tremendous and good man, who never reviled this information, I wish I could have apologized and shook his hand, or called, or sent a note. But it was too late.

So coach may have good reason for keeping a player off the floor. But what could be a good reason for leaving some on the floor when they should have been set on the pine? None that I can think of.
