I don’t like losing period. We are close to having a good win/loss record. Just a few plays have made the difference this year. I believe that coach will get the job done. This recruiting class is extremely important. I give him a bit of a pass for the recruits that signed last spring. He got the permanent job in early March and the signing period started in April. The majority of the players already had decided on their transfer destination. Some of you are concerned that don’t have any recruits yet. The transfer portal has completely changed recruiting. He will get us some players and we will be ok. The coaching staff had a good plan against Houston and should have won. He has made adjustments in other games this year. He can certainly improve and I think he will. Have faith.

What does this recruiting class look like? Where does it rank against other AAC teams?

While I'm sure none of us like the situation, he's not wrong.

Unless some of our "Covid" juniors have told the staff they aren't coming back next year, we only have one available scholarship and no seniors, eligibility-wise. In my mind, Ricks and Abbide will freshmen next year, and in a sense, part of this year's recruiting class. The hyperactive transfer portal has disrupted traditional recruiting strategies.

That said, I would expect at least a couple of Covid juniors will move on and probably one or two others, minimum. Hopefully we're high on the list of a few current offers and we can snag a quality player or two out of the portal.

Since we're on the subject, I don't see Mo or Dex returning. After four years I'm not sure they are going to increase their pro opportunities with one more year in college.

Grant and Pleasant are wildcards. They may decided it's time to move on to the next stage of their lives or see what a 2nd year in the program will do for them.

Tyson, I feel, is 50/50. He clearly didn't have the NBA-level breakout season he was shooting for. He may want to come back and employ what he learned, transfer for a change in scenery, or take his shot at the draft.

Monzy and Chauncey haven't shown much improvement and I can't imagine they are happy with their current roles. I think it's more likely than not at least one looks for a new situation.

So we could have anywhere from one (three, if I'm being realistic) to eight scholarships available. Next year may look like a similar team to this year, or completely different.

          Literally and Figuratively.

          I kid, because I care :)

I’d be more than happy to see TE 2.0 return!

This will be an unpopular take...but I tend to agree.
