IB said early in the season, maybe even before we played a game that he would live and die with TE....looks to be the latter, when do other players step up and say enough is enough. Unfortunately I think we'll see that at the end of the season in the transfer portal.

Correct. And I don't think KP has been mismanaged. KP is a future center. He has good skills but has limitations too. When CP comes back I would only use 4 players for substitutions. RC4, MJ, KP, and QG. The key will be when to use those players.

Keep him on the floor and let him become the "future center". As far as those 4 subs, that's about all we have left now. We need to start playing the players who may be around in the future (may be slim pickins') and building towards next year...already!

I thought TE played his best ball of the year until about 8 minutes remained and we lost the lead. His shot selection was good and he made several plays by making moves and dishing.
That being said, from that point on he returned to his norm of this year.
Was that TE's decision or did IB make that change?
Either way it is a coaching issue.

only problem with that would be the fact that they would name Kennedy as interm for a few games untill they named him HC.

Gone are the times where we were the feel good story of college basketball. Although to be honest, the feel good story is part of the reason IB is coach.

WSU lost the game when Qua and to a much lesser extent Jenkins were in. Cincinnati attacked them on every possession and got rolling. IB went zone hoping to disrupt Cinci but it was too late and the zone not well executed.

We then fell back into bad habits in a one possession game - aside from one good play for Dex’s open three from straight on.

Furthermore, our coaching staff (like many others) doesn’t use every tool in the bag. Late in the game - We had lots of fouls to work with or have these fouls work against us. Instead of pressing or tightly guarding in the attempt to get steals we played standard man2man defense. This let clock burn without disrupting or creating a frenzy situation for the Cincinnati ball handlers. As a coach you cannot get into a late game situation without having front-ends at your disposal. Just piss poor game management.

With over 20 seconds to go I thought for sure we were gonna try to get 2 instead of going for a 3-ball. Plenty of time to get a 2 then d-up and try to force a turnover. Would've preferred seeing that attempt.

Tyson is good when he’s not trying to be a leader, a point guard, or trying to save a game. He’s a freaking spot up shooter. Please stop trying to make him something he is not. Put him in his role and let him score on open shots. I don’t care if we have to start Qua Grant at point. Let Tyson do what he does, otherwise he will continue to kill this team.

The only reason the game was tied late was Qua. He literally got scored on every possession in the second half.

And every offensive possession from the 3 minute mark in was a chuck-and-shoot by TE. Literally every possession.

You can't expect to win too many games scoring 57 points. Sorry.

I know you are a dense mother%#^+>#, but i called Tyson and the rest of the team out in the middle section.

We got selfish early to mid second half. Started with Mo forcing a bunch (sometimes successfully), then Ricky started forcing, and finally Tyson started forcing it. Just about every starter not named Joe tried to go one v one unsuccessfully in the second half.

We came out of the timeout with a minute and 18 seconds left. Inbounds to Tyson and he dribbles it around for 9 seconds and takes a crappy shot. No passes or even looking for anything. If that is the play HCIB drew up, that is pitiful coaching.
Monzy played 16 minutes and had 3 points and 3 rebounds, and wasn't good defensively. Not earning more time that way.
CP is our only player who can reliably go get his own shot or pass it to an open guy if doubled.
DeJulius was too good for Tyson to guard but HCIB left him there for most of the 2nd half. Needed to switch to Dex. CP was missed defensively too.
Mo was terrible at guarding the 3 point line. Why play off a 7' guy? It wasn't like he was going to dribble around him.

This is just disheartening.

Definitely didn’t work. Not sure why IB went to a ball screen offense so often late.
