        • I think it's a bit of an unfair question, due to the mass exodus two years ago...I think HAD THEY STAYED, Burton and Sherfeld and Fernandes would be polished....and even though Mo drives me CRAZY, he's worlds ahead of where he was two years ago....

            Thats an affirmative.
He was rough as a Junior and just took off as a Senior. He turned into 'The Guy' and was who they ran the offense through. It certainly wasn't the case as a junior.
How good would he look patrolling the paint right now!

            That is all.
Above all, make the right call.

I think some of the credit for Austin Reeves has to go to his time here. He was very lightly recruited out of high school.

Frankamp, while not a diamond in the rough, resurrected his career here which has led to a nice paycheck overseas.

Shaq got better when Fred was on him, but his talent was mostly squandered. I grant Echenique improved, though he is still improving. Rauno, marginally.

Players like McDuffie or Dex never achieved anything near what I felt were their ceilings. Etienne doesn't look better. Maybe it's just where the college game is, but it seems like when we get a player now, that is who that player will be in the future. After our '13 and '14 runs I just didn't see any development. Where we were getting the most out of marginal talents before then.

Reaves was a recruiting find, but he didn't get better here. He did get improved medical care.

Frankamp never looked as good for us as he did trying to bail KU out in the tourney when they couldn't even bring the ball up the floor before he came in.

Your 'improved medical care' line DID make me laugh...:)

In all seriousness the hillbilly doctors he had been seeing had dicked his shoulder up. He got healthy here.

That's exactly what HCIB has to work without.

Remember the La. Tech game on TV a few years ago? Remember when the announcer/s said during the game "GGG is really high on S. Jones and believes he could be their next player in the NBA"? Selling players by telling them they're NBA talent, or could be developed as so, is asking for trouble.

Murry, Stutz, Ellis, Kyles, Durley, and Hannah would have run ANY of our post Fred teams out of the gym. This current team might not score 30 against those guys.

I was thinking along those lines while watching the game. I said to my wife that I wasn't sure they could have scored at all on the F4 team or the year after.

Echenique in today's team would look great in the first half, but then never see the ball for 2/3 of the second.
