  • This quote shows you how tough they have been at home and how good they have been this season. Only trailed at half 5 times this season:

It was the ‘Cats’ second loss in Belk Arena this season and their second loss in the last 20 games in the building… The Wildcats trailed at halftime for just the fifth time this season.
Also the first time anyone scored 90+ on them this season. Outside of the 23 point loss to Charlotte, this was their worse loss also. The Charlotte loss was on the road, however.

    • We kinda of go overboard with Stutz...Im reminded of the Lutz article where he was gushing so lavishly over Stutz and he had the Valley in the palm of his hands. We have some weakness's no doubt but good coaching, the press, and a proper zone helped alot in the second half. Stutz you gotta love his heart sometimes his head just goes faster than his feet will allow....(what a redshirt season would of done for him though alas he had to play via necessity) two things stop Stutz a physical 6/10 center or a more athlectic 6/9 or 6/10 who can go in and out. He is just a touch slow at times but hes the best we have right now and what is protecting him is the shooting of Rags, TM, DW, DK and Smith and the penetration of all of those players minus smith and to a lesser extent DK. We are valuing possessions late in the game and we need to keep working it inside out...Stutz will find more room to operate then as well.
1/16/2010 on the "Screw at the Q" HCGM... " Ive never seen a foul parade like that...If you would of let me know it was going to be a foul parade I would of brought a different team" .... "dont talk to me about fouls....Ive got to go back and look at some tape... I have some thoughts but I need to look at the tape and then I will have something very strong to say"

He is good just because he demands double and triple teams. Ragland & Murry don't get to the basket as easy without Stutz demanding the defense. Not everything is shown on the box score. He is actually pretty good one-on-one against just about anyone. Echinique is the only one that has been to effectively take him one-on-one for a whole game.

WTF? He can take his all time mid-major list and stick it up his old ***. We wouldn't have gotten half the recruits we did in the 80's if there was a "mid-major" list.

          **** off Dickie V!

It's all wine and roses now, after our victory, but a loss would have had serious negative consequences. We confirmed that we are for real but didn't really gain any ground except among poll voters who were not paying attention. The selection committee will be paying attention and this victory, while nice, will not count for much when it comes time for seeding.
So do we wait every year and if our record is good enough already, we just go, nah, we don't feel like participating this year, call us again next year?

Last year, if we won the bracket buster game, we might have made the NCAA tournament instead of the NIT. You can't judge the validity of it just because this one year our ticket was already punched. Plenty of years in he past and no doubt in the future where having a game against a team with a good RPI could put us into the tourney. Maybe even when we get Davidson at home for a non conference game, and a win over them might help us far more that year than it did this year.

I don't understand the problem. There's no negative unless you lose. So don't lose.

Yeah I heard that. Digger likes Murray St, but Hubert and Bilas both like WSU.

Googs and Corchiani getting run is the funniest thing I've seen in years.

Tell me if you and I were sitting behind the scorers table (I know you being seen with me in public is a stretch) giving it to officials, would they run us??? Probably not. BS, but funny.

I caught a pretty good glimpse between 11-1 on ESPN2.

                              • What we learned from Saturday afternoon

It's OK to admit it: This is hardly the best Saturday we've seen this season. But here's the good news: It's Feb. 18. We're well within sniffing distance of Selection Sunday, and so every game is meaningful -- including, but certainly not limited to, the various BracketBusters matchups around the country.

Wichita State 91, Davidson 74: Davidson, with that December win over Kansas in its back pocket, desperately needed a win here if it wanted to hold on to any scant hope of an at-large look. Obviously, that's done now. Wichita State just keeps beating up on people. Forget the mid-major label -- there are few teams in the country, regardless of conference, playing as well as this team right now. How many? Five? Maybe six? If that?

Anyway, before we move on, let's pause and reflect on the insane performance
Joe Raglandunleashed Saturday. He scored 30 points and grabbed seven boards at the guard position. Even better? His points came on 11-of-14 from the field. He shot 3-of-4 from 3 and 5-of-5 from the charity stripe. He was about as close to offensive perfection as a college basketball player can ever get. Bravo, sir.
Kansas is Flat. The Earth is Not!!
