I haven't seen anything with regards to a search, but the only thing that shows up in the log is requests people have made and WSU has closed. Anyone can put in a request though, and emails of all the employees using their WSU email account or a personal account they use for WSU business, can be checked. So if one thinks the WSU president has emailed people about an AD search, or the AD has received emails stating his contract won't be renewed, etc., that may show up in emails and one could request copies of them. WSU will charge for requests though (the fees are listed on the open records request site) and the university can redact information or withhold certain things based on some Kansas legislation regarding open records information. Also, I imagine WSU employees know anything they put in their WSU email could be made public, so there may be certain things that are only talked about but never mentioned in emails.

Boatright's current contract is available as an open record and it can be found at https://openrecords.wichita.edu/view...log/entry/144/ - it runs through June 30, 2022. Parts 8 - 10 of it cover things like termination for cause reasons, as well as any payments made by either party if one terminates the employment. They're pretty big paragraphs, so I don't want to post them here because one could just click on the link and read them.

A couple interesting things about the contract though is 1) it was a renewal contract - his first contract ended on June 30, 2019 and the new one was signed on February 5, 2019, so if he gets a 3rd contract, it may not be until 2022 before it's offered, and 2) any change may not take place until a new president is hired because any money paid for terminating the contract by either party isn't owed if an external candidate becomes president of the university:

Part 9 - "In the event the President of WSU changes during your employment and an external candidate becomes the new President and you therefore terminate this agreement, you will not be required to pay any liquidated damages."

Part 10 - "In the event the President of WSU changes during your employment and an external candidate becomes the new President, you will not be entitled to any liquidated damages if you are terminated without cause."

Also, besides asking for a search of emails, one could just make a request to see if a search firm has been hired, and not only for a new AD but if one was hired for head basketball coach, etc. Here's an example of one with regards to the search committee for a new president - https://openrecords.wichita.edu/view...og/entry/1174/
