Wichita State vs. Ole Miss Game Thread

Ole Miss had 15 offensive rebounds to 9 for the Shocks but the Shocks only missed 24 field goal attempts while Ole MIss missed 38 field goal attemtps. So the Shocks rebounded 37.5% of their misses and Ole Miss rebounded 39.5% of their misses so not as bad as it seemed. Ole Miss just had a lot more opportunities. That said our 5's neeed to grab more rebounds than they are.

Ole Miss is as athletic and physical as we will see and that includes UH. UH is usually good on offense and tonight, OM was too (they haven’t been good shooters until tonight and I didn’t think our team defense was bad either. This game is likely the recipe that we will need to win at Houston.

Its hard not to get frustrated with our 5 "s not rebounding. Just grab the dam ball. Its not going to just bounce to you. Sigh!

B1G, B12, SEC, P12, ACC have, combined, 15 teams (out of 64) that have PLAYED 3 road games and 1 that has 3 road wins, Oklahoma State with 4.

In other words, road wins are hard, even more so when you don't play them.

Side note: I wonder how many times we get burned going man to man when the other team is doing an in-bounds play underneath their basket. Seems like we give up a lot of points/easy baskets is that situation.

This team feels like it has a ton of potential and we're getting some solid early wins. A couple months back I don't think I could have realistically asked for more to this point. Tough stretch over the next three games, gonna learn a lot and I'm excited to watch!

I guess you CAN beat a zone if you can shoot for a good per centage from three. Ol' Miss was pretty good at limiting the penetration. Glad they played a little man in there towards the end to let us catch up

For a team with no legit 5 and still be 6-2 with multiple wins on the road...not bad.
Tyson is a *****...no other way to put it. He is a natural born killer... with upper level leadership skills.
This team will be easy to scout... overplay Tyson and make someone else beat you. It could be Council, if he develops over the season.
Got just enough out of role guys tonight...Wade, Poor Bear, Porter even a little from Udeze. But come crunch time, Tyson and Gilbert did and will have to continue to shine.
Jackson is going to need to move the needle forward too... need athletic guys like him to take next step to compete with AAC level players.
Great win on the road - and those are never, ever easy!

If they cannot get Bilau healthy, not sure how much he ever contributes. HCGM talked a lot about how unhealthy he was when JB arrived on campus. You wonder if he gets healed up enough to play at this level.
Porter can play - for a JuCo to kick it up to this level is impressive. Some guys just have it - and he does.
DD is an enigma... said it before. Fades in, fades out. Just gotta hope the light goes on when it really matters.
Talked before about which planet Poor Bear is on come game time. Tonight...somewhere between Mars and Jupiter. He could drive a coach to ...no, not going to say it.
UH game will be real interesting... pull off win there and the talking heads will start to notice.
