I'd like to see Trevin get a lot of minutes tonight at the point and Porter at the 2.

Wichita State vs. Newman Game Thread

NEWMAN (2-4, 2-4 MIAA) at WICHITA STATE (4-2, 2-0 AMERICAN)
    WEDNESDAY, DEC. 30 | 6:01 P.M. CT
WICHITA, KAN. / CHARLES KOCH ARENA (15% Capacity)
TV: ESPN+ with Shane Dennis and Bob Hull on the call.
    RADIO: KEYN 103.7 FM
SERIES: WSU LEADS 2-0 (Regular Season), 5-0 (Including Exhibitions)
    LAST MEETING: Nov. 23, 2014 (CKA) | #11 WSU 105, NU 57
    GAME RECAP:
Ron Baker, Darius Carter and Fred VanVleet each scored in double figures to lead the Wichita State men's basketball team past Newman 105-57 inside Charles Koch Arena.

Baker, Carter and VanVleet scored 18, 15, and 12 points respectively, to lead the offense for Wichita State, with Baker shooting 4-of-6 from behind the three-point line. Of the 15 different Shockers that played in the contest, 13 scored.

WSU connected on 10-of-17 three point attemps in the first half to build a 34-point lead at the break. The Shockers 67 points in the opening 20 minutes was just three shy of the school record for points in a half and equaled their highest output since the 1987-88 season, when they pinned 67 on Bradley.

The Shockers' 105 total points is the largest single-game total in eight seasons under Gregg Marshall. WSU's 102 points in its Dec. 19, 2011 meeting with this same Newman team, marked the only previous time in the Marshall Era that WSU had topped 100 points.
